In the work presented on this site there are a lot of common themes and even common endings; each piece of writing is interwoven, either consciously or subconsciously by myself. A longing for emancipation is often represented by symbolism such as the characters having wings or flying in a dream-like state. Transformation of the human form represents the illusion of what we call 'reality' and how reality is not so objective and also reveals how we, as people, change and mutate.
I often use the symbolism of the mirror. A mirror can also be said to be a door to another realm, or a doorway for spirits to enter. Mirrors reveal illusion, image, self-perception, inverse reality. I also use train imagery, with characters travelling from a difficult situation on a train to reach another destination or hearing a train in the distance. The train is symbolism of a journey and of movement.
Finally, sex is shown as base, violent, degrading; a strong, natural drive yet also as a desperate way of gaining either power, money or some kind of human connection in a cold, adult world.
