"Mom, I'm going to Copenhagen,"
"What?! Why?" She said with a shocked expression.
"I just want to try to be more independent, and a small trip could help with that!" I calmly answered with a smile. That was not a complete lie.
"When would you go?"
"Now."
"Okay.. Then go. Just be careful! Are you sure you don't want anyone to come with you? You only just turned 18.." She was still shocked, but surprisingly not suspicious. How sweet of her to worry about me, though.
"Completely sure. No, I do not need a babysitter, mom. That would defeat the purpose of going in the first place." And with that, I took my already packed bag, gave my family a hug, and went to the bus stop.  "Get out of here before she changes her mind and won't let me go. Not that she could really stop me, since I am legally an adult.." I thought. I took the bus to the central station in Aarhus, and bought a ticket to Copenhagen. Then I got on the train, sat down, and stared out the window until I arrived at my destination. The station was packed. People were rushing around me, and the whole place was buzzing with life. It was great. I went outside and got a taxi to take me to the airport. I found the right gate, but he wouldn't be here for another couple hours. I had enough time to get some lunch, so that was what I did. By the time his plane arrived, I was standing at the reception area. And then he came out. I had to fight everything in me to not run up and kiss him. Instead, I smiled at him, and - a calmly as I could - went up to hug him. "Hello, darling. I am so happy you're here." I said sincerely, but low enough so people around us could not hear our words. "Hi, my love. I am so happy to be here too." He said with that amazing voice of his. It was even better in person. I took his hand, and we went out of the airport. My hand fit perfectly in his, and that made me smile even more. I had booked a hotel room from home, not very far from the airport. We took a taxi there. During the whole ride we were completely silent, just holding hands and staring out the window. "We are both a little overwhelmed," I thought. When we arrived at the hotel, we checked in. The lady in the reception glanced suspiciously at us. To get rid of that suspicion, I said to her, "No need to look so suspicious. He is a friend of the family!" That explanation seemed to satisfy her, but when I quickly looked over at him, he did not seem happy with that. But my goal was achieved: No more suspicious glares were received that day.
While unpacking our bags, I felt a bit awkward. What was I supposed to say? If I heard his voice say my name, it would just make me jump his bones. And to be honest, we just met for the fist time in person. We should probably wait, just a little. And while I stood and thought of this, neither of us said a word.
After what felt like a long time - but it was probably just a few minutes - I finished unpacking, and went to sit on the bed. It was a small room; there were no other places to sit. His eyes met mine. Oh, those beautiful eyes of his. He slowly made his way towards me. Oh no. How am I supposed to stay in control of my body, when this gorgeous man is so dangerously close to me?
"Darling.. No," I said. "Wakey wakey, silly!" I added to get some of the tension to go away. It worked. He stopped, slowly blinked, and it looked like he was realizing something.
"Uh.. Right. Sorry not sorry," he said with a smirk. The atmosphere suddenly felt a lot less awkward. Now it was just sexual tension, but I guess we would have to get used to that. He sat down on the bed next to me instead, and pulled me in for a hug. No words were needed, so we just sat there, enjoying how we could finally touch one another.. In some way, at least. And I couldn't be more content. Weird, how I went from never wanting to be in a relationship, to.. Falling in love? "Yes. That must be the term," I thought. "The term for what, my love?" He asked. I didn't realize I said that out loud. Whoops. "Oh, you know.. Falling in love and stuff. I was just rambling in my mind. Nothing new there!" I chuckled a little, and looked down, trying not to make it seem like a big deal. It was, though. He simply made me look at him by staring at me until I turned my head towards him. Then, looking me in the eye, not a trace of joking or playfulness in his voice as he said "I love you."
And then I was unable to control myself. I leaned in and kissed him, which made him fall back on the bed in surprise. But as soon as he recovered from the initial shock, he kissed me back. And oh, the fire. His lips burned like molten lava on mine, and I couldn't get enough. It wasn't a spark; it was an ocean of flames. I was quickly underneath him, holding him as tight as I possibly could. Mine. All mine. And I loved it. Then I realized something. I broke the kiss, and just managed to say: "I love you too." Before his lips claimed mine yet again, and we sunk into our own little universe of ecstasy and joy.
