Quote. It's been the ruin of many a poor boy and lord I know I'm one.

Quote.Now mothers tell your children not to do what I have done and spend your life in sin and misery in the house of the rising sun.

I have just received a private message from a new writer on Silk.The concern was that 173 "reads" and only one reply.Mine

I used the term "the house of the rising sun" in my reply.

In my long experience both writing and reading on Silk I do not consider that anyone has ever improved their writing skills on this site.

If they were say an 8/10 when they arrived then when they "pulled the plug" they in my opinion were still an 8/10.

Likewise if they were an 4/10 to start with then when they went or just stopped writing on Silk then in my opinion they remained a 4/10.so to speak.

This site is a wonderful "social experience" in my opinion. However it is a "death spiral" for up and coming writers who want a career as a "wordsmith".
