In the same way that any given person goes through commonly occurring phases in their life,So I Think does any writing site, this including Silk.
I was here on Silk at "The Beginning".
The writing was hot and sexy and always entertaining.
Year after year new writers continued the tradition.
It seemed never ending as it all blossomed.
I like today's Silk too.
It appears to have moved on from raw adolescence.
In my opinion we now are approaching middle age.
More mature and less explosive to the senses.
In the future,as with a person, Silk will grow old.
Maybe, just maybe,Booksie will "pull the plug" first.
Silk has been and still is a colorful rainbow after a storm.
The rainbow,as in nature will slowly fade and go forever.

A lot of us long time members and writers are going to be very sad/upset if BooksieSilk ever ceases to exist.

Meg,
Nina Bellini is another fabulous writer from THAT era that I have just managed to remember.

Yea, I haven't been here forever, but I can remember when they instituted private messaging first on Booksie and then over here. I really loved that.
Sat, May 15th, 2021 2:42amI think there are some good authors here and always will be as long as administration is willing to support the site. I just don't have as much time to read as I once did.
In the midst of all this panic about the Silk Apocalypse, I (like many) have wandered about the web in search of other options. I wasn't as aware as many about the multiple sites out there. Thus far, I still haven't found a site that makes me want to leave. This site is dedicated primarily to writing. Many others are just too busy or too big for my taste. I'm hopeful they can keep this site going.

Me too Megan.
Sat, May 15th, 2021 2:24amI finally got around to reading "MUD PIES".
The classic by Laura Lewis that you suggested that I read.
WOW!!!!!!!!
Silk management often put up always fairly current writings as "Great Reading"
I wish that they would include some of the "classics" from 2014/2015/2016/2017/2018.
Let the newer writers "feel the magic" of these memorable stories and poems.
Laura,Megan,Amy,Benawriter,Samnash,SpyGuy.Francisco Fraser,LolitaGirl StoryWriter X,and one or two others whose pen names escape me as I write this.
Thanks for replying Meg.
