Do you know I love you sometimes?
Hate you most of the times
Do you know what it feels like?
To watch you like someone else
And forget when I’m close by
Do you know how my heart breaks?
When you hide me for your sake
Do you know how much it hurts?
To hide in the shadows, it cuts
I smile at you when I’m aching inside
Do you know what it means?
When your actions justify not your speech
Do you know how confusing it gets?
When you don’t want me
But won’t let me go
You tell me you need me more
But you don’t treat me such
She leaves for years, you wait
You don’t give up
You give up on me even before leaving
How do I believe you when you say you miss me
When you don’t even check on me
You’ll never know just how I feel
I’ll never tell but in your dreams
Only one day you’ll wake up
Never find me
You’ll never know just how I feel

speak up honey....It's the secret of success in any field of endeavour...
I loved the poem
It was honest and truthful
It flowed and was easy to read
Been there. This poem speaks volumes without so many words.Nice work, Shea.
You always hurt the ones you love the most
He does not deserve you, that doesn't treat you right! Your pain is rightful fury when a victim of untrust... Just struggle through the difficulty, find new wings you must!
Shea,
The first most resounding thing is how personal this poem feels. It's from the heart and it's from experience. The second person narrative makes it very strong. Your reader empathizes. Your reader feels your pain, imagines your distress...and most of us have had similar experiences. It's a gift to be able to communicate this situation so clearly. I wonder what he'd say if he read it? Stuff like this always gets a lot of advice. We all want to be helpful. Truth is, an aching heart doesn't heed advice too well. We don't think with our hearts. It's the weakness of the human experience. But we do heal. And we can love again.
To watch you like someone else
And forget when I'm close by
When you don't want me
But won't let me go
The poem is beautiful and heartbreaking, but those verses really got to me. Had someone in my life who did this, and when I finally managed to let my feelings for him go and move one, he tried to sabotage my relationship. He always wanted me there for him, but didn't want to give anything in return. You deserve better, especially if you can write like this. You've got too much passion to waste on someone who doesn't appreciate it.
This was beautiful Shea!! Reading this I can tell it was written from experience and a whole lot of heart. Men are confusing and confused us even more. We give, they take, they return us with nothing but heartache. Beautiful poem...
SK, such heartfelt prose whenever a goodbye to a relationship seems unequal. We do empathize with the questions asked of the writer's perspective knowing that at one time or another we have all felt this helpless love unrequited. But, a friend told me once that the heart wants what it wants even if the person sought is not right for us. The hardest part is to move on seach of it knowing the pain won't last forever and that maybe just maybe next time such intense feelings maybe reciprocated from a heart given freely.
Gone girl, & Amy have truly given you some wonderful advice! I know that love can hurt, just be a bit more careful as to where you look for it! The country song; "Looking for love in all the wrong places..." comes to mind!
I love this how you layered your truth in your words they worked so well together thanks
