Voice.

I've heard a voice calling at dawn.
Hailing from the shadows for the forlorn.

Get up and fill the cup of desire. Don't wait.
before the cup of life is filled with the hand of fate.

Don't preoccupy your mind with times gone past
nor with what is coming to you before it is cast.

Take advantage of the present and its pleasure.
for the nights are not to be trusted in their nature.

Tomorrow is an unknown and today is mine.
I've always been disappointed looking for a sign.

I am not so unmindful whenever I ponder
at the beauty of my world and not wonder.

The heart is exhausted from the love of beauty,
and the chest narrows by what is held inside of me.

Oh God, why are you so satisfied with my thirst?
when water, pure and fresh, runneth to burst.

Wouldn't it be better if the heart is beating?
and in the fires of my desires burning?

What a total waste that day which goes abate
without being in love or in that state of infatuate.

Wake up, oh cheerful one, at the dawn's spring.
Call out, let sleep begone, and pluck those strings

Sleep has not made anyone live longer,
nor have the nights made anyone younger.
