I own all characters, places, and plot lines for this story, it is all a product of my own mind, fantasies and dreams so no stealing.

She was frightened, her home was under attack and she was too afraid to help in any way. Her father was injured the one man she thought could save him was away. The priests were all dead blood was being shed everywhere and all she could do in her fear was hide. She chastised herself for letting her fear paralyze her but it was no use. Yet we are getting ahead of ourselves as this story begins. Let us go back a few months to begin our story, before the war, before the attack on Corellon.

Corellon was a beautiful city, castles and walls of bright white stone rising up out of the mountains of Caldora. Corellon was the home city to the race of Caldora known as the high elves some called them the blood elves. Many other races came to live beside them in Corellon but the populace was mostly made up of those elves who had built the city, nurtured it into existence.

The king of these elves was a man named King Avriel. He and his daughter Princess Arianna ruled over the race of elves with a fair but stern hand. They believed in sanctuary for all those who came to their city to live and prosper beside those of their kind. They did not judge anyone based on their race just on their respect or lack of for the place they called home. Arianna was in training to become a Paladin of Corellon just as her father had before becoming king. She wished to have the power to heal her fellow elves when they were ill or must do battle.

Arianna was the age of 17 when this story begins. She was a fair skinned beauty any male elf would have given anything to be chosen as her mate. She had emerald green eyes that glittered with flecks of gold and long flowing dark red hair. The princess wasn't all looks though she possessed the strength and brains needed to become a great paladin in the knights army.

Arianna was young but progressing well in her training to become a holy paladin when she was reunited with a friend from childhood. As all paladins she was sent to be trained in fighting as well as healing. On her first day with the combat trainer she was paired up with Raziel. Raziel and Arianna had grown up together until his 14th birthday when he had been sent away to begin his paladin training. It had been 3 years since Arianna had laid eyes on him and for her heart nothing had changed.

Arianna looked upon Raziel with appreciation for the man he had grown into. His eyes were the darkest of green and his skin as fair as her own. He had kept his hair long and as the sun hit the deep red it showed hints of copper. His build showed that of a warrior muscular and fit. Then he smiled at her and it made her heart skip a beat. He grabbed her and hugged her tightly showing he had missed her too.

“Raziel, oh my I almost didn't recognize you. It has been years since we last met. How have you been?” Arianna spoke to him as though no time had passed at all.

Raziel smiled down at her as he spoke, “I have been wonderful Arianna, missing home but my training has gone smoothly as you always predicted it would. Speaking of growing up look at you, the beauty of a goddess.”

Arianna blushed at Raziel and then their trainer came in and put them to work.

They spent the next few months training beside one another and when their training had completed they reported to her father and the commander of the army for their orders should battle ever fall on the city. They were greatly surprised when told they had been paired with one another.

“The two of you work much better with one another than any of my other students. I order that you shall be paired together should battle ever fall on the city of Corellon.” the trainer and commander had agreed and so did the king.

Being paired with one another meant they were to spend time working with each other frequently to stay in sync. They decided that during their working hours they would stay beside each other no matter the duty given to them. One day the commander came to them and said he must send Raziel to another place on a very important mission that the king only trusted him with.
