"Bloody" Mary Lombardi. Ricardo "Shotgun" Ramirez. Some Japanese assassin known simply as "Zero". These people are part of some of the largest crime organizations in the world. The Italian mob, Cuban drug cartels, and the damn Yakuza. The biggest question on my mind is why did these seemingly unrelated clans work together to kill him? Hopefully all will be answered in time...

...I'm on my way to the interrogation room. The N.Y.P.D. finally caught "Bloody" Mary Lombardi. Weapon of choice: Two 9mm handguns, handles taped, baby-bottle nipples on the tips to use as silencers. Clever bitch. Number of victims: Twelve. Mostly just hired hits. Most recent was what got her caught. Detective James Elroy. Good cop. Good man. Hard to come by these days, even in a good neighborhood. The other two- Shotgun and Zero- have something to do with Elroy's murder. Two shots to the head, six in the chest, and throat sliced by a razor-sharp blade. Think about it. If you ask me, it couldn't have happened to a better man.

"Who hired you to wack the detective, Lombardi?" I'm trying to be nice. The fat, make-up soaked whore just gives me the same answer. "I only answer to the Composer." I ask her again, in a polite, professional tone. I'm really thinking, you stupid bitch, just tell me before I beat your fat ass with this chair I'm sitting in. "Look, Mary, you and I both know you were not the only person who was there when Elroy was murdered. You and I both know you were hired. Now tell me- who hired you to murder Detective James Elroy?" She looks up at me, gives me a wink, and says, " I only answer to the Composer. You and I both know I was hired, right? You and I both know I wasn't the only person who was there when Elroy was wacked, right? Who  the other so called killers, hm? Maybe you could get a better response from those two..." I've had enough. I get up, look down on her one last time, and leave the room. She stares at me as I walk away, with the same satisfied smirk on her face. "Watch your back Ms. Lombardi" I say as I turn the corner. "I only answer to the Composer!" She calls back. The Composer. I'll look into that.

The next week, "Bloody" Mary Lombardi is found dead in her cell, a cup laying beside her. Poison. It makes sense how, but who? The Composer? Why would this Composer guy kill her? She wasn't talking, so why take out a highly skilled killer? Hopefully all will be answered in time...

A month passed since Lombardi was murdered. The N.Y.P.D. has found Ricardo " Shotgun" Ramirez. Why is it taking so long for them to find these bastards? A good man is dead, and these small-time cops are hardly doing a thing about it. I'm walking down the hall to the interrogation room again, hoping to hear nothing of this Composer guy. There is hard evidence that Bloody Mary, Shotgun, and Zero all tortured and killed the Detective. Ramirez better talk. The "nice cop routine" didn't work with Lomardi, so it won't with Ramirez. Anyway, weapon of choice: Twelve-gauge pump-action shotgun. Not very subtle. Number of victims: Seven. Killed squealers in his cartel. The things meth can do to a person. "Ramirez, who hired you and Lombardi to kill detective Elroy?" He looks a bit nervous. Maybe he'll talk. He looks up at me and says, in a heavy accent, "I only answer to the Composer." I feel my hands clench into fists. "Dammit, who is the Composer?!" I slam the table with my white-knuckled fists. Ramirez flinches, then looks up at me. " I tol' you already, I only answer to the Composer. Look into it, eh? Perhaps you won't be so angry. Why don' you remember?" Now he looks satisfied with his filthy self. "Remember what? Talk, Ramirez, or this will get ugly." When will I hear the end of this Composer bullshit? Hopefully all will be answered in time...
