First three chapters are kindf boring. But hopefully you enjoy as you read in deeper.

CHAPTER 1

I placed my diary down on my bed and sighed as I closed my eyes. My mother’s screeching voice came from downstairs.

I threw my diary onto the floor as I got up.

I pulled my shirt down and walked over to my door.

I opened it, and my brother, Eric was leaning against the door frame.

He blew smoke into my face and I resisted the urge to cough. “Dinner.” He said softly.

“I know, I heard her.”  As I tried to move, Eric moved closer to me biting his lip.

“What do you want, Eric?” I asked.

He smiled while he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. “I’ll get it soon enough.” He put the cigarette in between his pink lips and slowly turned and walked down the stairs.

This wasn’t new. I was actually quite used to this behavior from Eric. From my own brother.

And this started ever since my dad, Aron died.

He was murdered.

Since he died, Eric has been touching me and making comments no brother should make to his sister.

I told my mom, Lisa, but she doesn’t respond.

She’s always too busy high on pills.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.

It had a heavy smell of sweat and a sweet sickening smell that made me feel nauseous.

I sat in the chair at the small table in the middle of the room and Lisa handed me a plate filled with beans.

Baked beans.

I looked up at her and she had heavy wrinkles under her eyes and a dead look on her face as she threw a fork on my plate.

I exhaled as I began eating the cold beans.

I was use to the shit. So the disgusting taste was bearable.

Eric sat across from me taking the cigarette from out of his lips.

Lisa put a plate in front of him and he looked at me as I reached for the glass of water that was next to my plate.

“What?” I asked.

His tongue rolled out and he flicked it repeatedly toward me. I looked down at my food and started eating.

Once Lisa sat down she sighed and put two pills on the table.

“What is it this time?” Eric asked looking at her.

She gave him a look. “Don’t worry about it.” Her voice was groggy. There was a time when she was beautiful and lively and I looked up to her.

That was no more.

She got up, went to a cabinet and put a bottle of Jack Daniels on the table.

“Are you trying to kill yourself?” I asked.

Lisa stared at me like I was crazy. “Alcohol makes me feel better, little smart ass. Eat your dinner.”

I move my plate aside. “I’m not hungry.” I whisper.

I felt a kick under the table and I look to Eric who gives me a death glare.

Oh right.

He doesn’t want me to make Lisa upset.

“I mean,” I pull the plate back over. “I’ll finish.”

“Good.” Lisa pops the pills into her mouth and she opens the bottle of Jack Daniels and I watch as she chugs it down.

I glance at Eric who is still glaring at me as he steps down hard on my foot with his shoe.

I wince in pain and keep my eyes on his.

“Eat.” He mouths.

I do as he says and from the corner of my eye, I watch my mom destroy herself.

My dad was what kept the family together but obviously, that was done.

He died and my family went to shit. But it goes like that a lot.

The alcohol spilled down her chin and she put the bottle back down while her eyes closed.

“You want to share?” Eric asked.

Lisa opened her eyes to look at Eric.

She smiled as if she was proud of him and slid the bottle to him which he caught.

He took a long sip and licked his lips as he looked at me. “Want some?” He asked.

I shook my head.

“You know you want a little, Jamie. Put your lips on it for me.” He sent me a mischievous grin that made me sick to my stomach.

I looked to Lisa who was eating, pretending that the conversation was appropriate.

“No, Eric, I don’t want it.” I replied.

He sits back in his chair eyeing me as he takes another long sip.

After dinner is done, I go upstairs, wash up for bed and I go into my room to put on a t shirt and short shorts.

I hear a loud banging against my door and I go to it and open it.

Eric stands there in just his boxers.

I look up into his blue eyes.

“Y-Yes?” I ask.

“Can I come in?” He asked in a low voice.

I shake my head. “I’m going to bed. I have school tomorrow.”

Eric smiles.

“I can’t win with you, can I?” He asked sighing.

“I don’t know what you’re trying to do, Eric.”

He nods and his dark smile returns. “Oh you know, you’re just too embarrassed to think about it.”

I didn’t want to think about it.

It was clear to me what he’s wanted this whole time.

But of course what he wants, he can’t have.

I just don’t understand what can make him want this.

Want me.

I’m his damn sister.

“I’ll take that sweet little innocence from you, Jamie. Just wait.” He whispered. He slowly stepped back and walked down the hall to his room.

He glanced at me before shutting his door.

I closed my door and got into bed.

I turn my lamp off and lay my head on my flat pillow.

I shut my eyes hoping for once, I don’t have a nightmare.

When I wake up the next morning, it’s raining outside.

I take a shower, get dressed and I try to look lively today.

My eyes are just as dead as Lisa’s and she’s the one taking drugs nonstop.

I add a little eyeliner and some blush to bring some color to my face.

I put my hair up to a messy pony tail and walk out of the bathroom.

Walking downstairs, I almost tripped and Eric catches me by wrapping his arm around my waist and I tense up.

“I’m fine. You can let go.”

Eric stays where he is, breathing against my neck.

We hear footsteps upstairs coming near the stairs and Eric slowly lets go of me. He brushes past me as Lisa came to the stairs.

“Lisa,” I say. She looks down at me scratching her neck, her eyes half closed.

“What?” She asked, clearly irritated.

“You don’t see what Eric does?”

She sighs loudly. “Damnit, Jamie, I don’t have any time for your dramatic bullshit. Work it out.” She stomps down the stairs and continues scratching her neck.

I grab my bag from the corner of the living room, and I’m out of the door. School numbs me. I feel absolutely nothing.

Your typical, “If one more teacher says the word “Midterm, I’m going to hang myself” bullshit. It’s always been that way. I can’t imagine the last time I’ve actually been happy since Aron died.

Maybe a job to get away from my stupid fucking family will work.

Never really looked for one.

Maybe I should start.

It’ll help this depressing mood and might even save me from Eric.

Hmm.

As I walk into the house, I shut the door and throw my bag onto the couch.

Eric walks downstairs staring at me and looks at my bag that’s on the couch. “You know she hates shit just thrown anywhere. Just don’t piss her off. She’s already acting crazy.”

“Where is she?” I asked.

“Probably on her knees in front of her pimp. Where the hell else?” He asked.

What’s with his attitude?

“Okay.” I grab my bag and Eric grabs me and takes my bag from me and throws it down onto the floor.

“What the hell?” I asked.

Eric walks toward me until I’m backed into a wall.

He smiles briefly at me and touched my cheek with his finger.

Then he puts either hand on the wall beside of me and stares at me.

“Jamie,” he says softly.

“What?”

“When are you going to give me what I want?” He asked. His eyelashes flip up as he looks at me with affection.

“I-I don’t know what you want.” My voice breaks.

He smiles.

He knows he’s making me uncomfortable and he likes it.

“I want….to taste you.” He said simply.

My eyes grow wide as the words roll out of his mouth.

My mouth goes dry although I swallow as much as I could.

“What?” I squeak.

“You heard me, fucking tease.”

“I’m not a tease.” I said.

Eric’s smile slowly disappears.

All the affection and flirtation gone.

“Yes you are.” He says matter-of-fact.

I shake my head and he slams his hand hard against the wall making me jump.

“That’s all you’ve been.” He closes his eyes while putting his forehead against mine.

“You’re a tease.” He whispers.

“No.” I shake my head.

He nods and then steps back to look at me.

Lisa comes in at just the right time and of course she pays us no mind.

“Lisa, how much you got?” He asked.

She covers her mouth as she coughs hard and she brings a little bag of brown gritty hay looking substance in a little bag.

She gives it to Eric who feels it through the bag and smiles.

“I don’t like him but he knows how to get the good shit.” He smiled at Lisa and then looks to me.

I move away before he could do anything else and I go upstairs.

I close my door and sigh into my hands.

I hate this. I hate my family

I hate myself and I have to do something about it.

I have to do something before things gets worst.
