Holly stepped through the door of the home she and Brad had shared together for the past five years since they’d gotten married. She was running late. They had shared so many happy moments in that very house, and each time she thought about them they brought a smile to her face. She and Brad had moved in the day they had gotten married, and it was also there that they had spent their wedding night before they escaped on their honeymoon getaway. It was a night she would never forget.

"Good evening, daddy, how was your day?” She asked, politely.

Brad was sitting on the couch as if he was waiting for her to step through the door and the look on his face left no doubts in her mind that he was upset; she knew him well. But why? Her question was answered when he finally spoke.

He stood up pacing back and forth.

"You’re late - where have you been?” He asked, his voice was deep and raspy, almost emotionless, demanding answers.

The way he looked at her told her that he was getting impatient and he wanted an explanation. She had never seen him like that before and she was much taken aback by his question. He had never questioned her coming or going before, there was something different about him all of a sudden. She couldn’t quite say what it was but it showed in his look and his voice and also the way he glared at her.

"I am sorry," she managed softly, feeling trapped under his brooding stare. “I had to help Marie with something today and it took longer than I anticipated.”

Marie was Holly’s only sister and she was going through a hard time and she was doing her best to be there for her as much as she could. She would have wanted Marie to help her just the same if she needed it. She and Marie had always been close since they were children; they loved and care for each other dearly. Marie was married and living with her husband on the other side of town.

"This has been going for some time now, among some other things that I have noticed, Holly. You should have been here an hour ago. Did you forgot our plans for tonight?” He asked, accusingly.

Oh my, God, she thought. Holly wondered how late it was and how she could’ve forgotten something as important as their dinner reservation.

She sighed. She felt really bad, she didn’t know what to say. How could she ever justify forgetting their date?

She looked at him and saw that he was already dressed; he had never liked being late for anything and was impatient when it came to waiting. Why can’t a woman be ready on time? He would often ask. He was dressed in one of his favourite suits, which made him look more handsome and sexy than he already was. Brad was tall, dark and muscular and could almost make two times her 5"4 inches. He was thirty two years old, and of black ethnicity, skin as smooth and dark as the richest chocolate.

Holly took a quick glance at the clock that was hanging on the wall and she felt relieved, although just a little. She had roughly an hour to try and get ready. It was only 7:00 o’clock and dinner was set for 9:00 o’clock.

“I still have enough time to get ready, Brad," she said, sounding a little hopeful than she actually looked.

Brad was a Staff Sergeant in the Army and sometimes away for long periods of time, moving from one country to another on deployment. When they can they try to spend as much time with each other to make up for lost time. He had come home after being away for eighteen months and she had been so glad to see him. They had embraced each other, dropped on the couch he was sitting on and made out passionately before he carried her to their bedroom. Holly blushed at the memories. They hadn’t gotten the chance to spend much time together since he’d came back. He was busy with some important business he needed to take care of now that he was back home, along with visiting his family and close friends. He had called her while she was on the road to let her know he wanted them to have dinner and she agreed thinking how romantic it was.

"This is unacceptable, Holly. I will not tolerate this kind of behaviour." He said, in a surprisingly calm yet firm voice. “I expect you to be on time whenever we have plans, I expect you to be home on time ... period!” He was standing in front of her; he was close, way too close she could breathe in his scent. “Do you understand me?”

Holly stood her ground.

She had somehow knew it would turn into a fight, although that was the last thing she wanted at that moment. How he dare scold her, she thought, and her anger erupted. “I am not a damn child Brad!” she snapped. “And I don't appreciate you treating me like one. If I’ve got something to do, I have to get it done."

Brad looked at her in awe, he couldn’t believe what he had heard. That was one of the major problem in their marriage and one that would be fixed soon, he was sure about that. His anger boiled over, he had have enough. “No you are not a child, Holly. You are my fucking wife and I expect you to behave as such.” He said in a strangled tone that vibrated throughout her entire body reaching to her core.

Well if he wanted a fight, he would get one. Like hell she would let him do all the talking and she started yelling. She was too angry to notice how high her voice had gotten or some of the things she was shouting at him. What had gotten into him? What was it with all the questions and orders? He never had a problem before.

Brad stood there, his arms folded across his chest as he studied his little spitfire and for a while he wondered if she realized how she was talking and to whom she was talking to. Had she forgotten that he was her husband and the head of their household? How dare she talk back at him?

His sweet little wife was in for a big surprise; thing were going to be different, he thought to himself.

It was time he laid down the law. It was time he became more assertive and exercised his authority in their marriage and in their home, or things were going to get worse than they obviously were. Maybe she need to be reminded that she was a woman and that women should be submissive and respectful to their men. Well at least that's how he saw it, and she had made that promise to him on their wedding day.

He had have enough of her bratty attitude. With no words spoken, Brad lifted his hand and slapped her firmly across the face; not enough to hurt her, but just enough to get her attention. He would’ve never hurt her intentionally; he loved her too much.

Holly fell, crumbling in a heap at his feet on the carpeted floor. She gasped loudly and her big brown eyes looked up at him in shock as hot tears escaped down her flushed cheeks. Her eyes searched his as if she was asking a question and searching for answers at the same time. He looked right back at her steadily, daring her to challenge his authority.

He had never slapped her before, no matter how much she would argue with him. Didn’t she have the fucking rights to speak anymore? Holly, tried to get up on her shaky, trembling legs that she was sure wouldn't take her very far. But he wasn't ready to let her go just yet.

"Stay where you are, don't move." It was a command not a suggestion, and something in his voice commanded her to obey.

Holly found herself frozen back in place on her knees in front of him, her head held down, she refused to look at him, not that she could even if she wanted to. She suddenly felt little and bemused. He tilted her face up by resting his finger under her chin and he took a minute to relish how beautiful she looked, flushed, kneeling at his feet. For some strange reason he felt a rush of excitement and satisfaction and the sight of her stirred his cock.

"Don't you ever talk to me like that again, Holly," he said firmly, when she didn't respond, he added. “Do you understand? Do I make myself clear?”

"Yes, Brad" she said softly, almost a whisper.

"Good girl.” He croon.

"Now I want you to go and get dressed for dinner,” he said and as if nothing had happened. He turned and walked away.
