No one knew about their  story,

no one knew when it started,

no one knew it would live,

branded in their souls forever.

No one knew anything about it,

they just kept their secret safe.

Only  the river and the old  bridge

were their trusted friends.

Their ways parted one day,

as those of star crossed lovers do,

Still, there´s a ripple in the waters

that spells  their names in the air,

there are stone steps somewhere

that have not forgotten them,

and, in a hidden parallel world

there are two bleeding broken hearts

trying to find each other again.

So sad! I hope it doesn’t describe your life!

Amy F. Turner

Exquisite and concise as always to drive the emotions to the place of longing.

Having followed your work for a while, I'll point out the recurrent imagery that surrounds your frequently repetitive theme. Poets are drawn to water. I'm not sure why, but it seems universal. You're drawn there for more reasons than poetry. Bridges and cobblestones are common in your pieces for the same reason, but all of that together is so relatable to everyone who loves and has loved, just as your theme of longing is so common and relatable. The imagery is romantic and nostalgic. The idea is that inanimate objects like bridges and streetlamps somehow possess a memory, just as you do, of a secret relationship that transpired in their presence. It personifies the city and surroundings themselves - makes them an intimate and infinite part of those finite moments frozen in time. But stones and bridges can't speak. There's only you to relate what they know...

I'm not the expert that Dampkitten is when it comes to recognizing pertinent things in poetry, but I do recognize that in many of the things I've touched on in your portfolio revolve around love, lost love, unfair and sad separations, etc. and it makes the reader wonder what circumstances could yield so many pieces with similar themes.
I'm not meaning anything derogatory, by all means; your poems are very touching and wonderfully written. The way you describe feelings in them is remarkable. I respect your talent, believe me.
