The night air is thick with your memory,
time tugs at the folds of life' s robe,
your words remain in some part of my mind,
and I remember our brief hours of joy.
We searched different paths,that's all.
Perhaps you will also remember our story
and perhaps you will just choose to forget.
It matters not now,all is immaterial at last,
I have arrived at my own crossroads
and I see a half hidden,untrodden road.
And while you vanish in the life of your making,
I choose to go on and take that unknown path.

Ah, taking the road less traveled by!
I like your first line in particular- “The air is thick with your memory.” That’s great imagery.

Unlike some of your ‘longing’ poems, this one reflects solace and acceptance. There are so many that we come to know briefly on our journey, so many paths to choose from. We touch. We love. We move on

We never fully accept, the longing stays for life, you just do not want to bore others with it. We just go on but the pain stays.
Thanks for your review,. dear Kitten. Love, Lizzie.
