I ran through the forest, blocking out the sounds of my pack mates and the touges around me. My sole focus was on the growls and snarls of my Alpha. The Beta, Alan was busy making sure that the pack house was protected which left my Alpha unprotected.

I ran so fast that to the human eye I'd be nothing more than a silver blur. A sudden howl of pain sliced through not only my ears but my heart. I knew the howl and knew that if had come from my Alpha.

Shooting through the bushes, I became enraged by the sight. My Alpha was in the jaws of a rouge, and he was losing. I growled so loudly I was surprised myself. I shot forward and tackled the rouge off, he turned on me and I brought my claws down across his muzzle. He shook his head, growled at me and retreated. I began to give chase but stopped when a whimper sounded behind me. Turning my body felt a chill of fear, my Alpha laid in a puddle of his own blood struggling to move yet not accomplishing it.

I ran to his side and nudged him, but it only caused another whimper so I shifted ignoring my nudity. I accessed his wounds but it was hard while he was in wolf form.

"Alpha please shift back..." I added please so that he as Alpha wouldn't feel ordered to do so. And he complied. I quickly looked him over and knew it wasn't good, and much more than I could handle alone.

Dr. Michael's the clearing at west point our Alpha is hurt. Hurry! I rushed through the mink-link.

On my way! He said just as rushed

I pressed my hands against the deepest wounds which were across his stomach. Earning a grunt and groan from my Alpha.

"Dr. Micheal's is on his way, just hang on Alpha." I said calmly, even though I was anything but.

My Alpha shook his head and I felt my heart drop. "We both know I won't make it out of this one. But, at leas-." He began coughing somewhat forcefully.

"Shh Alpha, conserve your strength. You'll be okay!" I said, trying to make myself believe it as well.

He took a few breaths before continuing. "I know that the pack will be well. Do you know why?" He asked, I shook my head the tears that I felt began to sting my eyes. "Because you will be looking after them." He raised his hand and caressed my cheek. "Watch over your mother and the pack just like I've taught you."

I held his hand to my cheek. "You'll be here to teach me more..." I replied.

His eyes softened, yet seemed sad. "No I won't. But that's okay I've had a full life, a great one." He went into another coughing fit and the blood from his wound gushed through my fingers. I recovered my hand and pressed, a sob breaking free from me at the amount. "My daughter, my Chey. I know I haven't said it enough and I am sorry for that but I love you, I always have and I am so, so proud of you. You will be a great Alpha." He wheezed out. "I, Alpha Jackson Stone pass by on the title of Alpha and all of it's responsibilities to my daughter Cheyanne Stone." He gasped out.

I didn't bother holding the tears back now, but cried openly as I looked into my fathers dull blue eyes. "I, Cheyanne Stone accept the title of Alpha and all the responsibilities as such."

He nodded, a smile gracing his face. "I am happy. Tell your mother..." He stopped talking and I literally heard the breath leave his body. I simply stared for a moment before shaking him.

"Papa! Papa!!" I cried. "Please, please don't leave me yet! I still need you, momma still needs you!" But he never moved nor responded.

I sat there holding him to me, sobbing into his chest until I heard the sound of my pack arriving. I lifted my head and slowly lowered my father back down to the ground. Standing up I watched as two warriors, Beta Alan and Dr. Michael's bursh through the bushes and stopped in their tracks taking in the sight.

Dr. Michael's was the fist to move which was to my fathers side. Beta Alan looked away from my father to look at me. His eyes showed his sadness and loss as I'm sure mine did yet they also showed acceptance of my new title. When Dr. Michael's was done he moved to stand in front of me.

"Alpha." He said lowly, bowing his head in respect and acceptance. "We will move your fathers body, to be cleaned and prepared for burial."

I nodded, Beta Alan finally spoke. "Alpha. Your mother?" I knew what he was asking.

I shook my head, "I will tell her, alone. Please see to my father." I didn't give them time to reply or comment but left the clearing. I headed to the pack house knowing my mother would be there waiting for mine and my father's return. It would be difficult to tell her and not break along with her but my father had taught me that Alphas were, are strong and they have to be such for their pack.

Walking into the pack house I seen quite a few members look to me with gasps. I knew I was a bad sight right now. I was covered in blood. My face was no better because of my crying but I pushed through the crowed. The older members lowered their heads but the younger ones didn't know that I was bow Alpha.

I found my mother in the kitchen with some of the warriors mates, they huddled together praying for their mates safety which made my stomach uneasy as I moved closer. She muclat have scented me because her head jerked up. Her eyes took me in and the horror and devastation on her face killed a part of me.

"No...no, no, no!!" She yelled repeatively. I just moved forward and enveloped her into a tight hug. She struggled but weakly her body wracked with sobs as she kept saying no. I held her through her tears only later to notice that the pack house was now empty.

My mothers sobs finally stopped and she moved away slowly. "How..?" She asked strained.

I swallowed the lump in my throat. "A rouge, he got in too many hits. He had to many wounds. I couldn't save him. I'm so sorry mother."

She looked up at me, her bright, glassy eyes wide. "Your not to blame for this Cheyanne. You know that right?"

I pressed my lips together, no I didn't know that. I know that I was unable to save him. And, because of that not only did I lose my father but my mother lost her mate and the pack lost their Alpha.

"Cheyanne Stone do not even think that! I am blessed to have you here. I will grieve for you father and the pack will grieve for their Alpha but we are blessed to have you here to carry on. Never let that thought go through your head again! Do you understand me?" She said sternly.

I nodded. "Yes mother. You should rest." She nodded and hugged me tightly again before retiring upstairs to her room. I knew she was broken and I knew the pack was too but I will work hard to glue them all back together.
