Prologue:

Rise of the Donku

Dianokaa was once a world like no other. Creatures and kinds of all varieties once occupied the world, in relative peace. Though politics often found their way into the minds of the world’s citizens, power was divided, as equally as possible; no one race was superior to or lesser than another. Each race had its own laws, but all followed the Law of the Elder Council. The Elder Council consisted of members of each race, who was elected by the powers of that kind or creature. For several millennia, the world existed the way it always had been, seemingly unaltered by time.

When darkness and immorality reared its ugly head, those who fell to it became the Donku. Donku were Okina, or blood drinkers, that believed that the Okina were superior, and would force blood from others and attack innocents. They believed that since Okina were born with a need for blood to survive, they stood atop all others, as a natural predator. To them, any other creature or kind should bow down and serve the Okina, since nature, as they saw, so obviously wanted the Okina to rule it.

These unspeakable acts gave the actor into madness. Innocent blood belonged to those who knew not of evil and ill will. And being forced to give your blood, your life source, was a living hell all its own. As you faded away from the world, you found yourself tortured with the worst kind of torture ever possible; you would live out all your worst fears, and even fears you did not know you had. These acts gave more power to the blood, and could make the consumer heal in a matter of minutes, and give them strength beyond that of reasonable comprehension. Such evil had never been known here before, and for so long, many believed that the tales of Donku were merely tales, stories, myths. That was until, of course, they united.

A werewolf, by the name of Mandoka Wintonto was cunning, wise, and undeniably charming. He was born to power, and he sought more over the years. His methods were ruthless, and that just gave him more power. But, the disease of the Donku, the insanity that gripped them all, sent Mandoka in a new, unpredictable direction. He began experimenting on people, finding ways to steal what they had within them. Then, he began creating, bringing forth new creatures. It took him a few tries, but eventually he unleashed the Nokanashi.

The Nokanashi were a monstrosity, and exactly what Mandoka wanted. These creatures tower at seven feet tall, are of moderate intelligence, fast, and remorseless. Their speed surpassed any other creature in the world. An attack from a Nokanashi, called Noka for short, was often the last thing you would see. One could only hope that they would die before the Noka managed to rip them apart with their six, oversized, serrated teeth.

After sending his minions out into the world to do his evil workings, Mandoka turned to the Elder Council. Once, they had revered him as one of the best Elder’s the Council had ever had, and Mandoka tried to play their favor. Most of the Elders, however, saw what Mandoka had become and refused his offers. Unfortunately, those who gave in to power, pleasure, and greed, joined Mandoka.

The Elders that did not join Mandoka knew that they could not fall to the Donku and removed Mandoka and his allies from power. However, just because the title was gone, the fear was not. The Nokanashi had already been begun their own revolution in the world. The Donku were feared before, and now people could only pray that they would be dead before they ever reached a Donku lair…
