Crikey Dad.

"Crikey dad I’m dyin’,

I’m beginin’ to melt,

It’s not the sun comin’ outta the sky,

It’s like somethin’ I never felt.

It grabbed me clothes and dragged ‘em down,

The wind blew off me hat,

It landed in me hair as well,

and made a bloomin’ mess,

I hope it stays away from mum,

and don’t muck up her dress.

Me clothes are ruddy heavy,

And it covered all the ground,

I saw it on your Chevy,

In fact it’s all around.

It’s eatin’ all the rabbits,

And landin’ on the tin,

I think I saw it down a Roo,

And it took away our bin.

There’s spots across the washing,

And the drops are getting quick,

The buckets nearly full now,

And it’s filling up the creek.

Dad you’ve got to help us,

get the stuff up off the floor,

it might take all our best things,

an’ well end up like the poor.

It’s fallin’ on the sheep and cows,

It’s clear as a pane of glass,

Dad you’ve got to get up now,

 And move your flippin’ ass."

"Now son", I said,

In a steady kind of voice,

"There’s nothin’ I can do right now,

I’ve really got no choice,

I see a tear, welling in your eye,

but settle down son,

we’re not goin’ ta die,

and when you blasted through the door,

even though you’re only four

those little drops that make you insane,

they take away the dry again,

It’s all Ok,

it’s just the rain."

"Crikey dad, what a pain."
