The council and the emperor, they are the rulers of the world of Cyuran, they are the dominant power which watch over the whole of the land, they have conquered every town and their leaders, forcing them into submission, the vampires of Cyuran are nigh-extinct, save for a few clans dotted upon Cyuran, they fight for their lives, and to satisfy the need for blood that burns in their heart, the nightwalkers are one of those clans, and this is where our story begins.

Edward trudges through the snow, for days he had been traveling Cyuran as a merchant, striving to earn his fame, his hair is black and rugged, even more so by the cold conditions he was currently in, he is not too handsome nor ugly, and is around 5ft tall, he remembered the warmth that he had been experiencing a few days ago on his 19th birthday in the Cold town of Barudar, which was his home, he shivered, these bear leather armor did only slightly reduce the cold of the climate, which was, at this moment chilling Edward to his core.

In the distance he saw lights, illuminating from the tavern, he sprinted towards it with a smile on his face, Yes! Finally, an inn where I may rest my head! He thought, he opened the door and walked into it, a few, shaded figures turned their heads towards him, there was something wrong, he walked to the bar, “Uh, an ale, please?” he asked the bartender, Maria, a girl with long, blonde flowing hair bended down to get the ale, then, when she came up again, she pounced, fangs sinking into Edwards neck.

“You are now one of usss, newblood.” She hissed, as a crackling laugh escaped her lips, Edwards mind became clouded, Everything is going… dar…k….

Aruthan, a stone city, lined with gold trimmings, it had one, large central spire and four districts, the market district, the entertainment district, the royal district, and the city district, the market district was like a magnet for traders, stalls everywhere, the scent of fruit, ale, wine, spices and other expensive goods flowed through the streets, the entertainment district had the arena, the theatre, and just behind the arena was an acting school for people aspiring to earn money by becoming an actor, the royal district was home of the Royal King hotel, the finest inn in all Cyuran, and home to some of the Richest men and women in the land, there was the city district, home to the many citizens, just off the city is the port, the waterfront, as they call it, for traders bringing in rare spices, to pirates, the legions sailors who specialize in protecting from attack by sea, and home of the beggars, pickpockets and lowlifes, who all live in dotted shacks along the waterfront.

It was nighttime there, however, and for some reason, an eerie silence filled the streets, a man, full of panic sprinted down an alleyway, the figure chasing him disappeared, and the man stopped, looking around, as he turned his head, a vampire with a insane grin stood in front of him, his face obscured by the darkness, he pounced on the man, sucking the life right out of him before he could react, he got up and wiped the blood off his lips, and proceeded to walk out into the moonlight.

It was Edward.

Edward woke up, sweat dripped onto the bed sheets, he was in an strange room, the wooden floorboards and walls were all un-familiar to him, there was a cupboard in the bottom-left corner, and a brown bear rug on the floor, as well as a fireplace which was directly opposite of Edwards bed, which illuminated the room, giving it an rather eerie feel, Edward shivered, even though the roaring fire had warmed him, there was a new sense of emptiness he had never felt before, it made him feel exposed… weakened…

He got up, and looked at a bottle of blood beside his bed, it had a note on it, to get you through the first few days, don’t expect any special treatment though, new blood. It read, what was this term? Why was there a bottle of blood? Edwards mind was still crowded, suddenly, it hit him, he gasped and ran to the bathroom, he could hear others even though they were downstairs, and his eyesight was amazing, better than before, even though it was almost pitch black, Edward could see easily.

He turned a corner and looked into the mirror, the truth was like a cold slap to the face, it seemed Edward felt the force of it as he collapsed to the floor.

“What have I become… oh god… have mercy…” he muttered, his hands on his face, tears running down his cheeks, his ears were now longer, his face seemed more bony, thin and weak, his eyes were blood red, and his long fangs reached over his bottom lip, he ran his tongue over them, he shivered.
