CHAPTER 1

EUROPE - LONDON - CURRENT SEASON. The teacher Archibald Smith, brilliant nuclear physicist, dressed elegantly. Put your best outfit for that important event; I would say that was preparing for its unique, as well as the last in his life. He checked his watch-tower attached to the wall and saw it was nearly twenty hours. He took a bunch of keys on the bedside table and placed in the dark gray overcoat pocket. Headed for the exit door, but halted suddenly, eyes closed, then he turned and returned thoughtfully to the office where he sat down heavily in brownish and soft leather armchair; but her mind was blank, as if it sucked all his knowledge in those last moments. He rubbed his face with both hands, stand up like a jack-decided and walked to the door and the road was taking the brimmed hat and black scarf gray stripes. He placed them in case. The radio had announced during the day the temperature would fall much that night. And really the cold air and biting near a cold rain dominated the entire outer landscape.

His car, an old sedan, black, 1964, Belgian manufacture, was parked right in front of the gate. Hurried inside the car, settled down, but before sticking the key in the ignition, surreptitiously adjusted the internal mirror and noticed, well away, a suspicious car, half-hidden in the light, revealing only the front. His pupils dilated denouncing an intimate despair on to that vision

"- It's them!" - She thought, as her left arm automatically stretched to the back seat to touch something rough and bulky. He issued a thud in the throat that came out between her lips more like a smirk and his eyes shone strangely.

"- Do not give them the pleasure to hear from his mouth what they wanted ... not reveal anything or do anything to harm the divine plan ..."

At that time the streets were empty and silent. The dense fog that met ahead hid the vehicle leaving only hear the noise of the fast motor. The teacher Archibald Smith did not seem to care about their lives. The car moved crosswalks at a constant speed until you leave the city limits. Then his eyes fixed on the road deviated only a split second to identify the rectangular galvanized plate painted blue with white letters that read: BRISTOL - 100 KM.

From there, a hypnotic force took hold of his thoughts and his attention was only awake to the numerous signposts on the road, which would reduce the distance to reach the city of Bristol: 70, 60. 50, 40, 30, 20 10, 1 km ...

The car stopped near a forest and the lights were turned off, but the roar of the engine left idling, more like the sound of a demonic beast perpetrating something macabre. The teacher Archibald Smith rested his head on the wheel and stayed that way for quite some time ... Every time I thought about what he had done, was invaded by uncontrolled emotion that choked throat and increasingly squeezed his chest. His troubled thoughts could not attain clearly no other solution that was not the one to which your proposed destination.

"- I could not speak! He could not reveal what he had discovered. It was not strong enough to keep the secret ... "

As if waking from a deep trance, his right hand sought the closure of the door that opened. Then he came out, looked around as if searching for something and only saw the flickering darkness around. Arching the body inside the vehicle reached the volume that was in the back seat, along with a flashlight that ran after him to give two strong beats with her body against the padding. He straightened outside and with the help of the flashlight, ran his eyes around.

A satisfied gleam came into her cheeks and a slight smile spread on his lips. He took the coil of rope and headed for the back of it cautiously and carefully was walking to a stop in front of a green tree and a few meters thick trunk. Would serve his purpose.

He took the end of the rope and carefully tied around the tree. He noted the distance between your car and the trunk, then analyzed the volume of strings to his feet, then made a careful tie and tested it was well tied. Then turned toward the car carrying the other end of the rope. I had the slow and heavy footsteps. He turned off the flashlight, deposited it in his former post, straightened his clothes. Then patiently he took the rope and did a decent tie a hangman; entered, closed the door, put the rope around his own neck and yanked at high speed.

The small coil of rope was quickly rolling out to become tesa ... and heard was a groan followed by a thud, then the horn rang nonstop for a quick period and stopped ... The vehicle's engine was dying ... And silence reigned again as before ...
