Author’s Note: This is my new story. I hope you all enjoy and I added a picture of Charlie, ‘Siddy’s’ half-brother from ‘Our darkest secrets’ and a picture of his girlfriend ‘Regina’ in the character pictures.

Chapter 1: Laws of attraction

?

“What time are you getting back home?”

I shrugged as I pulled my jean jacket onto my shoulders while looking at my dad, Ben. “I don’t know. Siddy wanted me to come hang out with her and her cousin and ex. What time do you want me home?”

“Before two.”

I rolled my eyes. “Alright dad.” I walked over, gave him a kiss on the cheek before leaving out the house.

It may seem weird to be twenty and still living with my parents but after high school, I didn’t know what to do. I’m actually a little scared of leaving home. I still felt like a teenager.

I texted Siddy that I’ll be over her house in a few minutes.

I’ve known Siddy Kennedy since I was five. Our parents are real cool too. Hers are just older but fun to be around.

I got into my 2013 black Chrysler 300 and it roared to life as I took off down the street.

I bit down on my lip. I hope her cousin’s not annoying. I never met him before but I get annoyed really fast. I never met anyone in Siddy’s family but her mom, her dad, her brother, Zach, and half brother, Charlie.

I pulled up to her house. I didn’t see her dad, Brendan’s car in the driveway or her mom’s, Rebecca. It must only be her and her ex and cousin.

I liked Siddy because of her personality. She’s a mixture of her dad, Brendan who is attractive and kind of mysterious and one of a kind. Then she’s like Rebecca. This shy girl whose outgoing but kind of quiet. Half the time you have to bring the party out of her. But she’s really fun to be around.

I got out of the car just as the front door opened and laughter poured from within the house. Siddy and two other people was walking out of the house.

I got out of the car and walked over to them. Siddy smirked at me. “Hey, baby. What’s going on?”

Me and her use nicknames like that all the time. I smiled. “Hey, sexy. Where are ya’ll going?”

“Park.”

“Yawn.” I said.

She rolled her eyes. “Ah, but we’re getting drunk first. You in?”

I shrugged. “Sure.”

Siddy then looked to the guy to her left which as I follow her eyes, I gasp.

Wow.

I’m literally loss for words as his eyes meet mine.

His eyes are light blue, and looking down into mine intently, making me feel exposed.

I bite down on my lip.

“This is my second cousin, Dylan Johnston. He’s a heartbreaker, stay away from him.” She pushed him playfully and he smiled at her.

“Hi.” I held my hand out.

His eyes went to mine. He grabbed my hand and shook it, firmly. “Hey.”

I was blushing. I could feel it.

I took my hand away and then looked to Siddy who looked back and forth between us. Then she grinned. “Talk about love at first sight.”

I rolled my eyes. “Shut up. Let’s go. Whose car are we taking?”

Siddy looked to her ex, Erik who swung his keys back and forth around his fingers. “Mine.” He answered.

Siddy smiled at him. He was her ex but they were just about a little more than best friends. I did not understand it but to each their own, I guess.

As we walked to his car, I looked back to Dylan who was looking back at me.

His eyes went to mine and he smirked.

I smirked back and then turned to continue towards the car.

I got in the backseat and Dylan slid in beside me.

Erik got in the passenger side and Siddy got in the driver side snatching the keys from Erik. “I assure you, I’m a better driver.” She gave him a heart-stopping grin and it worked. He looked both amazed and turned on by Siddy.

She started up the car and pulled out of the driveway.

We arrived to the liquor store and Siddy and Eric went in, all huggy and touchy.

“You think they’re just friends?” Dylan asked after a while.

I shrugged. “Possibly, possibly not. They don’t seem like it.”

He shakes his head.

I look over at him and notice besides his soft light blue eyes, his dirty blonde hair and strong jaw frame.

He notices me staring. “What?” He asked.

“Do you….have a girlfriend?” I’m a straight forward type of person.

He raises his eyebrows. “Why?”

I bite down on my lip and shrug.

“Do you have a boyfriend?” He asked.

I blushed as I looked over to him. “Why?”

“So that flirting with you wouldn’t be wrong. Not that it matters, anyway.”

“So you like to steal girls from their boyfriends?” I asked, smirking at him.

He smiled. “Maybe.”

I chuckled. “And then?”

“Well…you heard what Siddy said. I’m a bit of a heartbreaker.”

“With a face like that, who wouldn’t be?” I asked.

He chuckled. “Good point. And I think you’re flirting with me now. That’s not really a good thing.”

“Why?” I asked.

“I just told you, I’m a heartbreaker.”

I shrugged, my eyes on his. “I’ll take my chances.”

His smile disappeared as he stared into my eyes and if I wasn’t mistaking, I could see lust growing in them as they became hooded.

I bit down on my lip, feeling both the car and my body become heated under his gaze. I don’t get this. I really don’t. I don’t normally get turned on by just being in the space with a guy and one I barely know at that.

I kept my eyes on his and it was pretty obvious. He wanted me. Already.

Before either of us could make a move, the door opened and Siddy got back in the driver’s side while Erik got in the passenger side.

The car roared to life as the atmosphere went from heated, to normal.

My mind was everywhere and nowhere. This guy, I just met. Not even twenty minutes ago and I want him. It feels both odd and normal. How do I tell him that, though?

What would he say? He doesn’t even know me. What if he thinks I’m some naïve, immature girl? He never said rather or not he was in a relationship. It would be awkward to tell him this and he be in a relationship. I shouldn’t even be focused on this.

“Guess what.” Siddy said from the driver’s seat, driving like a crazy maniac.

“What, babe?” I asked.

“The Sierra club is opening up tomorrow. You in?”

“Sure,” I looked over to Dylan. “Are you coming?”

He shrugged. “Most likely.”

“You should.” I assure him.

He half smiles. “Then I’ll be there.”

I smile at him and then look back out the window.

I didn’t think I could be this straight-forward with a guy. It’s odd. Does he see right through me? See that I’m attracted to him?

I hope I’m not looking too desperate.

“Why didn’t Zach come?” I asked Siddy.

She scoffed. “Why would he? He’s a fucking pervert. He would have been all over you. Unless,” She turned for a second, a trademark smirk on her face. “You want him.”

“No!” I said. Ew. I mean, Siddy’s little brother, Zach is very hot, but he’s like a brother to me too. I could never see him in any other way.

I risked a glance at Dylan who was studying me, carefully as if seeing rather or not I really wanted Zach.

I stuck my tongue out at him and he smirked at me and turned away.

We arrived to the park and Siddy parked onto the grass.

We all got out the car and Erik came over to her and she thrusted the bag of alcohol into his hand and grabbed me, pulling me along the dark trail surrounded by thin trees. “Where are you taking me?” I asked.

Siddy sighed and then let go of me. “Are you planning on fucking my cousin?”

I furrowed my brows as I stammered.

Her bright gray eyes grew huge. “Baby, no. He’s a heartbreaker.”

“Yeah…and?”

“And…you’re stupid if you get involved with him. He dates a lot of girls but never has a girlfriend. Trust me, he’s a prick.”

I rolled my eyes. “You’re just like Ben with my protection, calm down.”

“I’m your best friend and I just want what’s best for you. And trust me, Dylan Johnston isn’t it.”

“I’ll tell you like I told him, I’ll take my chances.”

“And if you get hurt?”

“Then I’ll admit you’re right. Until then, just let me do this. If he likes me back then…he does.”

Siddy sighed, combing her fingers through her brunette tresses of silky hair. “Fine then. I’ll step back, babe.”

She said.

I smiled and kissed her cheek. “Thanks, hon, let’s go.” I grabbed her hand, leading her back towards the guys. Erik looked completely dazzled…or spellbound by Siddy. It was almost funny. If this were a book, Eric would be Anastasia Steele and Siddy would be Christian grey.

Siddy went to him and took the bottle from his hands and smirked as she opened the top, while looking into his eyes.

I went to Dylan. “Want to go for a walk?” I asked.

He nodded.

We turned away from the friends/lovebirds and began walking down the trail of the park.

If my dad knew about this, he would go crazy. My dad is the true definition of an asshole and I guess he wants to protect me from the likes of other assholes. I know how he was when him and my mother, Autumn was younger and I guess he doesn’t want someone like how he used to be to come treat me like that. He actually told me that he actually grabbed another girl’s ass while on a date with my mom once. I just looked at him like ‘What the fuck?’ Who the hell does that? If anyone does that to me, I don’t give a fuck where we are, I’m going to fucking slap him or her. Depends.

I shoved my hands in my pockets and looked over at Dylan who was watching me.

We kept each other’s gaze for a second before I looked away, down to the trail.

“You never answered my question.” He says, breaking our silence.

I looked back to him. “What question?”

“I asked if you had a boyfriend.”

“I asked you if you had a girlfriend and you didn’t answer.”

He sighs. “No. I’m not big on relationships.”

I rolled my eyes. “Why is every guy like that? Hate relationships but loves to date every girl he sees.”

“Every guy isn’t the same. I don’t date too often. It’s too much work.”

“You’re just lazy.” I say, playfully bumping into him.

He smiles, his dimples showed and they were very sexy. I bit down on my lip and looked away.

Is it too much to want to kiss him? Maybe.

I feel his eyes on me and I look over and shake my head. “And no, I don’t have a boyfriend.”

“Why?” He asked.

I shrugged. “Basically because every guy I meet is either stupid or a jerk. And they all just wanted to fuck me so…I just try to avoid relationships as much as possible. Until I meet the right guy.”

“Yeah, I understand that.” He nods as he stuff his hands in his pockets.

I look back to the trail as we continued to walk in silence for a little bit.

“How old are you?” I asked.

“Twenty eight.” He answered. I stopped walking and my eyes grew wide. “You’re lying.”

He shook his head, his eyes now wide with bemusement. “Is that a problem?”

Yes, we’re eight years apart and it’s bad because Ben will not like that.

“You just look younger than I thought.”

“You?” He asked.

“Twenty.”

His eyebrows raised. “Shit. Then how will you get in the Sierra club?”

I smiled. “You do realize they invented fake I.D.s right?”

He grinned. “Oh, right.” He says and then continues to walk. I just have this need to keep following him. Not only do I feel attracted to him, I feel safe around him.

My eyes went down to his butt. It was cute. I blushed and continued following him.

“So, if you don’t date, can we at least be friends?” I asked.

He looked to me and stopped walking. “I fuck my friends that are girls so…that’s probably not the best idea.”

My eyes bulged out. Jesus. What doesn’t he fuck?

“Why do you look so surprised?” He asked.

“Because…its just not normal.”

He raised his brows. “How isn’t it?”

“All those girls you’ve been with, you had sex with them all. All of them?”

He nodded. “People look at me and what do they see? A pretty face. Too bad they don’t see more than that.”

“It’s selfish. Them sleeping with you because you’re hot.”

“Am I hot?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know, are you?”

“I don’t know. Am I?”

We stared at each other through the darkness, the sexual tension growing with each passing second.

I shrugged. “I guess.” I said. I bit my lip to hide my smile.

“You guess?”

I nod.

He rolls his eyes. “Good enough.”

“Besides…why does it matter if we’re just going to be…associating?” I asked.

He nodded. “Good point.”

After a few seconds, we continued our walk.

I was a little disappointed, I didn’t want to be just friends.

But dad would freak. This guy is eight years older than me. Dad would definitely freak.

Mom would have an open mind. Dinah probably wouldn’t care, and would just want for me to be happy.

But we’ll have to see.
