If I could live forever, I would tell the people of the girl who tangled my heart in braids and my being in need.

Flowers have their thorns and she was no different; a quiet demeanour belied a confidence that rose from within, a strength seeping from her core.

Rescued from isolation, I was taught to breathe the sun again. She told me her dreams and I fell in love. Winter gave way to summer, and I did not realise my capacity to care.

She alleviated my anxiety from the surface of my skin, making me the happiest I had felt in a long time. Her delicate touch was better than silk, and my heart beat to the cadence of her voice. I remember the way her skin smelt of the sun and her hair of fresh air. Her ruby lips that reminded me of the taste of honeysuckle.

I often counted her freckles as she slept and how they formed tiny galaxies that I traced with my nails along their back. Goosebumps along your flesh the memory of my exploration. We were like two pieces of the same puzzle, and when we were wrapped around each other we formed a whole. She tickled the wind into my ear, like ambient white noise.

I would look for her for all eternity, but nature does not often repeat
