Might I just say, I don't understand how one of your kind could be insecure.

I don't understand why you put up your hand

To cover the painfully perfect lips

That put those of angels to shame

Or why you turn to hide your eyes

When they contain starlight and galaxies

And communicate through gentle lullabies

Telling your story with a swell of your symphony

Or why you hate your nose so,

When it is the core of these features

And is just as flawless,

Bringing radiance into each line and slope on your face

Or why you are shameful of your body

When it leaves me breathless with its beauty

Delicate strength

Lean muscle

Soft skin and caressing touches

Or why you don't like your smile

When it is my gravity

Pulling me in even deeper with each upturn of the mouth

The different emotions that smile can convey

Like when you sing and immediately smile

You are insecure of your voice, and somewhat embarrassed

But also achingly hopeful that my reaction is positive

A touch of sarcasm, drowned in your overall good intentions

And tender, sweet, maybe even raw

Love at its most vulnerable
