Mrs Smith had always been a strong woman.  Even now, at her daughter’s wake, she did not shed a tear and her face was completely composed.

In the car trip home with her husband and her other daughter, who had been the younger of her two girls, she didn’t speak a work or show a sign of misery from her lose.  She felt nothing.

Lorreta had never once shown to anyone a sign of sadness.  There was never a moment where she was not smiling that cute cherry-blossom smile of hers.  Everyone was in shock when one night, Mrs Smith, to her surprise walked into the upstairs bathroom to check on her daughter who had been in the tub for an hour, only to find a cold and lifeless body where Lorreta had once been.

To this day she can still clearly remember seeing the blood red water in the bath and the two long slits running along her daughter’s frail arms.  She didn’t cry.  She didn’t scream in despair.  She only grew silent and as still as stone until her husband came to check on her and found her motionless along with their dead daughter.

Mrs Smith hadn’t spoken a word since that awful night, so many weeks ago.  Both her husband, Tom, and daughter, Lisa, were getting worried about her.  Mrs Smith’s mind and face were always vacant nowadays.  She did everything perfect as always, if not more so.  Her cooking was always exquisite and the washing was always done once a week.
