I only knew one thing for sure, life as I knew it, was over.  My heart was beating so hard I was positive it was only a matter of time before it would burst out of my chest completely.  Fear and adrenaline pumped through my entire body. I walked, holding my underwear that were ripped down the side, one side of my bra was twisted around, I was covered in dirt… from head to toe, and the bruises were starting to hurt as I walked home.  I couldn’t wait to get home, but I also didn’t want to go home, not wanting to explain to my father, mother, and siblings what happened to me.  My oldest brother, Austin, would most definitely not take it well, but would take it better than my father would.

As I neared the house I longed so much to see, my fear started to fade away.  I noticed the lights were off in the house.  I was surprised to feel relief… I quietly opened the door and closed it behind me.  I tiptoed upstairs, I was just about to get in the shower when my reality came crashing down on me… I couldn’t take a shower it would wash all the evidence away.  I cried as I tied the two pieces of my underwear together.

I wiped the tears off my face and walked to my parents room, where my father was sleeping.  “Dad?” I weeped slightly as the word escaped my lips.
“What baby? What’s wrong?!” He asked, I could tell I scared him.
“Daddy, something happened to me.” I heard him sitting up in bed as he leaned over to turn the light on the bedside table on.
“Jesus Christ” he said quietly under his breath, “We’re going to the hospital” was the only other thing he said, on the way to the hospital, it was a long ride, but seemed short compared to the other events I had most recently endured.

We arrived at the hospital, the cops had already arrived ready to take pictures and take statements from the doctor I was about to see, and myself.  We walked in as the doctor met us down the hallway a little ways, he introduced himself as “Dr. Jason Tanner.”  I knew him already.  Jason was a co-worker of my moms, who also worked in this hospital.  My father had not met him before, and shook his hand as he introduced himself as well.  “Thanks for meeting us, John Andrews, Washington County Sheriff.”
