Thankful Heart
Thankful heart
It's been a while.
You traveled the oceans
have you found that smile?
Every road leads back
to where you started.
The sun is bright.
I came back to see
only to be blinded
by the lies you feed me.
Thankful heart
Whatever may come your way.
You deserve happiness
for all the pain you hid.
My gentle words and
my praying eyes.
They wish you love, peace,
and joy for all your lies.
Thankful heart
You made me cry
time and time again.
Time heals all wounds,
so they say.
Our hearts are finally one.
Our souls are renewed.
Thankful heart
I was never far away.
I just hid behind the screen
biding my time.
Picking up the pieces of
the woman with
a broken heart.
Thankful heart
I share the pain you feel.
The loads of shame, whispers,
gossip and dwindling fame.
We burn to only rise.
Rise like the Phoenix out
of the ashes.
Thankful heart
We deserve to try again.
To give our hearts
the fighting chance.
To become the man,
to become the woman.
God had planned us to be.
Thankful heart
My last words to you.
Clear your mind.
Open your heart again.
Seek and you will find.
The ones who truly love you.
They were there all the time.

Very nice poem, deep and heartfelt. It takes alot for a person to forgive whatever wrong was done and still wish the other person the best.
