Chapter1 (v.1) - The Pinky Promise

Author Chapter Note

Sorry for all the changes I keep making to this story but I would like to finally say I found what this romantic thriller should be about. Most likely you're bound to love and hate this story at the same time. My friends and I debatedwhat I could do with the title and how the charactors should be. The story is based on a timeline of about a full month between two bestfriends. They met in high school and remained real close to each other till they made a "promise" that changed everything. Just so you know this is their senior year. This is the story of Valerie & Sawyer...

PROLOGE: ..........

One-hundred and sixty- seven hours and fifty- five minutes.

I had one simple mission.

Find the sourse: someone I use to hold very close to my heart.

Get in and get out without ever being located.

I made the mistake once of getting to close, and broke a promise.

I've got one to die for friend beside me that I have come back for, and broke more than just a promise; I broke two hearts, and nearly an intire body. Looking across the private hospital room over the gray tile to a shit brown coffee table that sat just a hair of a foot beside the bed of a broken man. Where his chest slowly but surely rises with staggering breaths that make my heart clench in dismay. Of all things I was to be assigned as my mission...I never would have guest that I'd have one friend laying across from me, and never being able to hear the word "recovery" ever being whispered or spoken in his presence. As far as any of this goes with anything anymore is that I did not choose him, and he did not choose me.

One-hundred and sixty-seven hours and fifty- eight minutes.

The monitor started to slow it's soft humming beep as his heart rate dropped so drastically it came to a halt as I got up and walk over grabbing his hand. I thought back through all the dumb shit my job intitled me to do....I thought back to the past seven days I was given, and most of all things that came to my mind was the promise that was made on my senior year at Wood Haven High School home of the Beavers ( and a million jackasses). That promise was the only thing that keep us together till it was time to make a decision.

One-hundred and sixy-eight hours.

I was in a wheel chair with a broken leg and two cracked ribs on my right side, three small cuts in a row above my left eye and a busted lip. How I managed to make it through the past Seven days is a wonder for me. Though I escaped within a fraction of split moment of my life; I can't really say the same for Sawyer. As I slowly wheeled myself out of the gloomy, and depressing room turning around taking one last look at the heart monitor.

Beep...beep....beep....beeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

A tear broke free from the hold I tried to bistow upon my eyes and failed miserably to do so. My Final good-bye to him before it was announced that he was in a coma induced state I had made the disicion to stay with him. Till his dying breath. Looking toward the small "exit" sign above the hospital door it would be best not to look behind, because it was time that I packed up and moved on. It was already to late and time I went home.
