Two Is Better Than One

Martin stood outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home watching her through the kitchen window. She was giggling and laughing as the guy she was dating at the time had his arm around her waist from behind. She was cooking something on the stove while her new man nibbled kisses on her neck from the back and drew her closer into him. They seemed to be greatly into each other.

Martin watched from behind a tree trunk hidden from the shadows of the night as his ex-girlfriend melted in this man’s kisses and caresses. Martin had been wanting to get his ex-girlfriend back for about a month now and had been trying to get her to talk to him, but she refused his pleads. She told him that she was dating a new guy and she was finally over him. When he first saw her and her new man together at a mutual friend’s party, he was stricken with jealousy. He could not stand the fact that she had finally moved on. He knew he still loved her but he feared the love that she had for him had dwindled away.

He remembered the first time he met Lalaine at another one of his friend’s parties. She was standing alone at the punch table fidgeting with her freshly manicured nails and glancing around the room, when he spotted her. She was breath takingly gorgeous with her long curly chestnut hair pulled back in a stylish pony tail and a long curvaceous black plunging neckline dress. He thought she was the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on. He had to know her. He had asked one of his lady friends who was standing beside him about her. She told him that her name was Lalaine and she was one of her co-workers that worked with her. He asked his lady friend if she could introduce him and before he knew it, his lady friend was already walking over to the her. She said a few words to Lalaine. Lalaine smiled back at Martin as she was talking to her friend, which gave a good sign that she was interested. By the end of the night, Lalaine was in Martin’s arm engrossed in a passionate love making kiss. From then on, their relationship took off.

Martin watched on as Lalaine and this man continued their flirtatious acts until he could not take the display of affection any longer and walked back to his car. That night he drove home divested and with a broken heart. He told himself that he was determined to get Lalaine back and he would do anything in his power to get her back.

The next day Martin send a banquette of fresh roses to Lalaine’s job with a note telling her to meet him at their favorite club. He had a surprise for her waiting. He was hoping she would meet him there even though she told him she had moved on.

The Note read:

My dearest Lalaine;

Please do not ignore my love for you. Except this beautiful gift as an expression of my love and please meet me at our favorite club tonight at 7 PM. I have a very special surprise for you waiting!

That night Martin arrived at the club. He had arranged for a private dinner for two at the club and he was going to serenade a very special song he had written for her. He quickly got the stage ready for his performance while his friend who was co-owner of the club had some people to set up a nice little table for two in the middle close to the stage. It was a candle light dinner of Lalaine’s favorite dish. He hoped Lalaine would not stand him up.

When he finally got the stage ready, he sat down on a stool in front of the microphone with his guitar in hand. So many thoughts were going through his head as he waited impatiently for Lalaine to arrive. He was thinking maybe she was not going to show up or maybe she had better plans with her new man tonight. Twenty minutes after seven had gone by and Martin was getting very agitated. He thought she was not coming. Finally, he looked up and there she was; in a beautiful long red dress with a yellow flower in her hair. She held her clutch close to her as she walked gracefully into the club. Martin quickly got up from where he sat and rushed over to her giving her a kiss on her rosy cheeks.

“I thought you were not going to make it,” he said as he nervously stood in front of her.

She nervously bit her bottom lip and looked into his deep blue emerald eyes. “I thought I wasn’t either,” she choked out.

“I have a surprise for you,” he said. “Have a seat please.” He took her hand in his and led her towards the table for two. He pulled out the chair for her and she sat down. Martin rushed over to the stage. He sat down on the stool. He gave a signal to his friend who was hiding behind the bar. Suddenly the lights went dim and a projector backdrop lowered itself down on the stage behind Martin.

“Lalaine remember the first time we met at Roger’s New Year’s Eve party. You were standing at the punch bowls looking bored and I spotted you from across the room. Remember when I asked Sarah to ask you if I could come over and introduce myself to you. You agreed even though you had no idea who I was. At the time, “Boy’s Like Girls” had newly sky rocketed into fame. We had just landed a record deal and just brought out our first album. You hated the fact that I was a famous musician. That was one of the reasons why we broke up. You could not stand the fast life and the fact that I was always on tour and you could not see me that often. Even if you knew I loved you and would do nothing to hurt you, you still wanted to end our relationship; solely for the fact that you felt alone. You felt like I was not putting in enough effort in our relationship and I only cared about my music. Well Lalaine I’m here to let you know that I don’t only care about my music. I care about you too. I have loved you from the first time I laid eyes on you and I still love you till now.” From just those words Lalaine started to tear up. Her mascara was running down her face profusely. She had to fight back tears so her make-up would not get ruined. “I wrote you a song expressing how I feel about you. It’s called, “Two is better than one,”” he said.

Martin turned on the microphone and placed his guitar on his lap. He took two coughs in as he started his acoustic performance of the song “Two is Better than one.”

Verse one:

“I remember what you wore on our first date,

You came into my life,

And I thought hey,

You know this could be something,

Cause everything you do and words you say,

You know that it all takes my breath away,

And now I’m left with nothing.

As Martin sang the song, the projector behind him filled up with pictures of Martin and Lalaine’s memories. Lalaine watched as the projector displayed pictures of the New Year’s Eve party. She started crying harder as she went back down memory lane. She remembered everything about the New Year’s Eve party, from the first-time Martin introduced himself to her to their sensual heated kiss in the back seat of the cab they shared together that night. She remembered how Martin looked that night. He looked very handsome with a nicely tailored suit and a gorgeous blue neck tie that she could not stop staring at. She had in fact complemented him on the tie that night. She remembered his laughter and the way his deep blue eyes sparked whenever she was near him. The kiss at the end of the night knocked her socks off. It was both sensual and steamy. She did not even want him to leave that night, but he had an important event the following day which cut their time together off.

Verse Two:

So maybe it’s true, that I can’t live without you,

Well maybe two is better than one,

There’s so much time, to figure out the rest of my life,

And you’ve already got me coming undone,

And I’m thinking two is better than one.

Verse Three:

I remember every look upon your face,

The way you roll your eyes, the way you taste,

You make it hard for breathing.

Verse Four:

Cause when I close my eyes and drift away,

I think of you and everything’s okay,

I’m finally now believing.

Suddenly the projector turned into pictures of their first date. They had gone paint balling with some friends. It was not the most romantic first date, but it meant allot to both of them. She remembered her team had lost the paint ball game. She was striked out when a paint ball hit her in the face. It came from Martin; he had been aiming at her the whole time during the game. She was in a bad mood after that because she had to sit out for the rest of it and gave Martin the cold shoulder for the rest of the time. Martin finally apologized to her and tried to win his way back into her good side, by holding her close to him and caressing her during the boat ride. It eventually worked out fine.

Verse Five:

Then maybe it’s true that I can’t live without you,

Maybe two is better than one,

But there’s so much time to figure out the rest of my life,

And you’ve already got me coming undone,

And I’m thinking two is better than one.

Verse six:

I remember what you wore on the first day,

You came into my life and I thought, hey (hey, hey),

Verse Seven:

Maybe it’s true that I can’t live without you,

Maybe two is better than one,

There’s so much time to figure out the rest of my life,

And you’ve already got me coming undone.

The projector finally turned into pictures of the time her and Martin went on their very first hike. The trail was very long and steep, but they managed to make it to the top of the mountain. It was a hot day that afternoon and Lalaine was getting tired. They only had one bottle of water to share between them. It was not a very pleasant day, but it was a pleasant memory because she was with Martin.

Verse Eight:

And I’m thinking, ooh, I can’t live without you,

Cause, baby, two is better than one,

There’s so much time to figure out the rest of my life,

But I’ve figured out with all that’s said and done,

Two is better than one, two is better than one.

Lalaine sniffled tears back as Martin finished up with his acoustic performance. After he was done she gave an applause and wiped the lingering tears from her eyes. “That was beautiful Martin,” she praised him. “I loved it!”

Martin placed his guitar down on the stage floor and got up. He walked off stage and joined her at the table. “I’m glad you enjoyed it Lalaine,” he said as he took a sit across from her.

“Wow, you did all this for me. You even added pictures to your performance. It was very sweet.” She gave him a sweet smile.

“Yes, I told you Lalaine I love you and will do anything for you.” He reached over the table and held her hand.

She sniffled. “That took me down memory lane.”

“It was meant too,” he said. “Lalaine I want you back.”

Lalaine’s expression suddenly went from excited to sadness. She took her eyes off Martin brought her gaze down to the edge of the small round table.

“What is it Lalaine?” he asked. “Don’t you feel the same way?”

She raised her head up and glared at him. “You are asking for too much Martin. I told you I am in a new relationship. We are not meant to be together. I cannot be with someone who chooses fame over his own love,” she said.

Martin scooted further into the table and squeezed her hand tighter. “Lalaine listen to me; I understand, trust me I do. I am not choosing fame over you. You know how much my music means to me. Lalaine I promise I will try to be there with you. I promise, you will not feel like you are the only one in the relationship. I will try my best to show you and give you the type of attention that you deserve. Just give us one more chance, please,” he pleaded.

Lalaine got quiet. She was trying to figure out what do say next. She still loved Martin even if she could not admit it. If she said yes to Martin, how was she going to break the news to her new man and tell him that she could not continue with their relationship. Their relationship was new. They had not even engaged in sexual acts yet. They had only been seeing each other for two weeks. Their spark for each other was not as strong as the spark her and Martin felt when they first met each other. By the second day, her and Martin were already trying to get in each other’s pants. She wanted to say “Yes” but she kept thinking about her new man. She did not want to break his heart. She finally thought, "what the heck," and chocked out the words, “Yes! Yes Martin, I’ll give us another chance.”

Martin jumped up from his seat and rushed over to her side. He brought his lips to hers and passionately kissed her, while lifting her up from her seat. She wrapped her legs around his waist as he placed her down on the edge of the round table. Still engrossed in a passionate kiss, Martin pulled the straps of her dress down on both her shoulder exposing her black strapless bra that tucked in her soft ample breasts. He traced kisses from her soft lips to her neck and reached to her back side to unclasp her bra. Her breast finally broke free from its confinement. Martin tossed the tiny garment to the side as he put one of her breast into his mouth. Greedily sucking on one breast, Lalaine cocked her head back and let out a slight whimpering moan. Martin reached down with his free hand under her long dress in search for Lalaine’s wet spot. His fingers finally found the waist band of her panties. He tugged down on her panties until it was down her legs. Martin pumped two fingers in and out of her wet flower as he used his thumb to circle around her clit. She let out soft whimpering moans as he continued to finger fuck her pussy. Her fingers curled around the dark curls on the back of his head as she smashed his face in-between her bosom. He let out a suffocating whimper which caused her to release her hold on the back of his neck.

Martin slowly took his hand out of her wet snatch and unzipped his pants. He pulled his pants down along with his boxer, letting his hard cock free. He grabbed Lalaine by her ass and pulled her closer to the edge of the table. He then lifted her dress up and guided his engorged cock into her Venus flower. He held on to her as he pumped into her. They both let out groans and moans as he continued to push himself in and out of her.

“Fuck baby, fuck me faster. I’m about to cum,” she purred as she was nearing her orgasm.

He pulled out of her and picked her up from the table. He lowered her feet down to the ground and turned her around. She purred like a kitten as he bent her over the table and pushed himself into her back hole. She could feel his cock pulsating inside of her as he rammed into her back hole. She knew he was about to cum. She finally creamed all over him, sending him into a bucking fit and making him explode inside her.

After they were done, Martin pulled out of her. She got off the table and sat back down in her seat while Martin walked over to the bar to retrieve their plate of food that was sitting on top of the bar. He brought it back to the table and set it down on the table. He sat back in his seat and they began to eat.

“Oh, I missed that,” she said.

“Missed what?”

“The mind-blowing sex we would have all the time,” she said as she chewed her food.

“Oh, it’s not over my love. We can have mind blowing sex every day and all day long like we use too.”

“I can’t wait,” she replied.

After dinner, Martin and Lalaine got dressed. They walked out of the club together and got into separate cars. A week later, Lalaine broke up with her new man. Martin and Lalaine boarded a plane to Miami for a tropical weekend before he and his band mates goes back into the studio to record their second Album, “Love Drunk.” The song “Two is better than one,” was the fourth song on the Album. The song landed a number eight spot on the Billboard 200 and sold 41,000 copies worldwide.
