Anna has been fat all her life. She was an over eater as a kid and as she grew older she packed on the pounds. It wasn't until she went to a doctor for a physical that she became more concerned about her weight. She got put on a diet by a nutritionist and successfully lost a lot of the weight. She was now at a health weight. But it wasn't enough for Anna she needed to lose more. She goes through extremes just to lose more weight and puts herself in an un healthy state.

Crazy (Based on the song by Simple Plan)

Anna has always been chubby all her life. When she was a kid, she was an excessive eater. She was always eating. As she grew older, she packed on the pounds and blew up to 180 ibs. Now in her twenties, she is overweight and trying to lose the weight. She has tried every diet out there but could not seem to shed the pounds.

Anna developed body dysmorphia disorder in her late teens. When ever she looked in the mirror or at herself, she would seem thicker than what she was. She would see thick flesh that hanged down from her body and her skin texture was too soft. She especially did not like the way her hips and thighs seemed to look. Although she was fat, she saw a much bigger person in the mirror.

It was not until Anna went to the doctor for a physical that she decided to get more serious about losing the weight. The doctor had told her she was forty pounds overweight and she needed to lose forty to fifty pounds for her health. She was developing diabetes and high blood pressure and if she did not lose the excess weight, her condition could get worse. So, Anna hired a nutritionist who put her on a nutrient dense diet. At first Anna did not think it would work for her. No diet she has ever been on ever worked in the past. But she decided to try it anyway. She ate healthy for three months, only eating food with a lot of protein and lean fat. The pounds came off in an alarming way. The weight was finally shedding off.

Finally, Anna lost forty pounds. She was down to 130 ibs. The nutritionist was proud of her and congratulated her on getting down to a healthy size for a 25-year-old that was 5’5 inches. She advised her to get off the diet. But Anna was not happy nor satisfied with her weight loss. She thought she needed to lose more weight. She eventually found a surgent who agreed to give her liposuction and a tummy tuck. The doctor did the procedure on her and she lost another 30 pounds after the procedure. Anna was now down to 100 ibs. But when she looked in the mirror, she still saw a thicker person. She was not at all satisfied with her weight or what she was weighing at the time. She decided to get on a stricked starvation diet. Anna starved herself for a while, only eating fruits and drinking water.

By the time Christmas came around she had already lost another twenty pounds. She was looking very fragile and unhealthy at the time. Anna went home to visit her family for Christmas. All her friends and family were concerned about her health, especially her Mother. She could not even eat any of her Christmas meal for fear she would throw it up.

As Anna sat at the dinner table with her family, she became very distant and quiet. She refused to say a word to anyone. She wanted to be outside of her family as possible. She did not want anybody noticing she was not eating anything on her plate. She would just shuffle the food around and pretend she was eating. Anna kept thinking about the calories in the food and how much it would make her fat. She stared at the food on the table. Everything seemed so fattening. She did not want to go back to big fleshy thighs and flabby stomach. Suddenly, the food started to form eyes and mouth. The turkey in the middle of the table started to speak.

“Eat Me, Anna!” I Know You Think I’m Delicious.”

Anna could not believe what she was hearing or seeing before her eyes. It could not be possible. How could a stuffed turkey have a mouth and start talking to you. Then the mashed potatoes started to cave in and bubble up in front of her eyes. It started to talk.

“Anna Eat Me! Go Ahead, Take A Bite!”

Suddenly, Anna’s Mother’s voice knocked Anna back into reality. Her Mother was asking her why she was not eating. She was concerned about Anna’s eating habits and the way she looked. Anna said she was not hungry and got up to leave the table. She could not take the pressure any longer. She went into another room where she could be alone. Her Mother came into the room to talk to her. Her Mother told Anna that she might have an eating disorder and she thinks Anna should seek help. She gave Anna the number to a therapist. Anna took the number and agreed that she would go. She promised her mother that she would eat.

When Anna got home, she bought a lot of food, but could not eat it. She just stored it in her refrigerator. Anna continued to starve herself. The food in the refrigerator got spoiled and Anna had to throw it all out. A few months passed and Anna had lost another twenty pounds.

One night, Anna was sitting on the sofa in her living room watching Tv. She was watching a runway modeling program and observing how thin the models on the program were. She wanted to look like them, so beautiful and PERFECT. She wanted to be thin just like them. But what she did not realize was how thin she already was. She did not realize that she was in fact thinner than the models on the TV. She was blind to her body and how she looked. She did not think she was ever thin enough. During the last few months, she had dropped to a very unnourished and unhealthy weight of eighty pounds.

Anna was so nervous about her weight. She still had food on her mind and the thoughts of weight and food was taking control of her mind. She was really losing herself. Then suddenly she heard a noise coming from the open kitchen. The refrigerator seemed to be moving and rattling. It was shaking and making noise. Anna could not stand the noise the refrigerator was making. She thought maybe it was her mind playing tricks on her again. How could a refrigerator move and how could food be talking to her? She thought. Then she heard some noise coming out of the refrigerator. The food in the refrigerator was calling out to her. It was saying something to her.

“Anna, Come Here!”

“Come Eat Us! I Know You Want Too!”

Anna was so spooked about what she was seeing and hearing that she cut off the TV and ran into her bedroom. She jumped into bed and got under the covers. She was so frightened and disturbed that she stayed in bed until she fell asleep.

The next day Anna did not awaken from sleep. She was found dead by one of her neighbors. Anna’s autopsy stated that she died from respiratory heart failure due to starvation and malnutrition. Her friends and family were very devastated of her passing. Her Mother blamed herself for months. Maybe if she would have pushed Anna more into getting help with her eating disorder, she would not be dead.

This is so sad! I truly felt for your heroine here, I wish these kinds of disorders didn’t happen to people, but unfortunately they do! Thank you for pointing out that our society needs to pay more attention to people who are struggling with these things!
