Double date from the fearstreet series by R.L Stine is an amazing and engaging book to read. From just the first sentence, you will get trapped on its enticement. You will never want to put it down nor want the story to end.

The book is about the main character, Bobby Newkirk who is a heart throb to all girls at Shadyside high school. Every girl wants to date him, and every guy wants to be him. He has pretty much dated most of the girls of all types in his grade, except for twins. He gets his chance when the Wade sisters come to Shadyside high. Bree Wade is the shy and timid one and Samantha is the more adventurous and risky one. Although they are different in many ways, they are very close twins that tell each other everything, including whom they are dating at the time.

It all started when Bree and Samantha asked Bobby and his band mates at school for directions to a teacher’s classroom. Bobby was immediately captivated by both twin sisters and was determined to date at least one, but when he had succeeded in asking Bree out on a date, he got greedy. He wanted to ask Samantha out as well. What harm will it come to in dating two sisters at once? With his friend, Archie’s encouragements, he got on the phone and dialed the Wade’s phone. Samantha picked up and was confused to whom he wanted to talk to, but when he said he wanted to talk to her she was even more baffled. She was curious to know how he would pull off dating both her and her twin sister. But after he explained to her that Bree did not have to find out, she agreed.

On the day of Bree and Bobby’s date, Bobby and his bandmates played at the local Mill club and Bree was there for the entertainment. After the band finished their gig, Bobby offered to take Bree home. On the drive to her house, sparks flew, and he could tell she liked him too. He got his first kiss from her in the car that night before she got out of his car.

That next Saturday, Samantha met up with Bobby at the local Division Mall. Because Samantha loved earrings, she begged him to follow her into a jewelry store where she ended up stealing a pair of hoop earrings. Fortunately, they did not get caught, but one thing Bobby learned that day was that Samantha loved to steal and she was a horrible driver. Bobby landed his first kiss with Samantha that night at the river Ridge make-out spot.

Things where going good with bobby and the twins until Bree showed up at his house worried. She told Bobby that Samantha was seeing someone and she refused to tell her whom he is. The twins always told each other everything. Bobby shrugged it off and told her that he will find out at school and she should not worry. She agreed. Samantha later, warned Bobby that Bree was very fragile and she can do anything. Despite her warnings, Bobby continued to date both twin sisters.

It wasn’t until the day when Samantha and Bobby were at the Mall running from the store owner who had seen them steal a pair of earrings, that Bree caught them in the act. Samantha was scared to approach Bree about it, but with Bobby’s help they both came up with a lie to try and get themselves out of the situation. Bobby wasn’t so sure that Bree believed the lie, especially when he found out that his front car tires was slashed. He immediately thought about Bree when he saw his slashed tires. Fortunately, Melanie was in the area and she picked him up. Later, at school Bobby spotted Bree and Samantha. Samantha wanted to show him something, so she pulled him into the lab and showed him a way to tell her and her sister apart. She showed him a butterfly tattoo on her right shoulder, which Bree didn’t have.

Unfortunately, when Bobby got electric shocked at the school’s talent show, he started to suspect that the Wade twins were involved. The more he continued to see the twins, the more he was convinced that they were dangerous, and he should break it off with not only one but both. It wasn’t until Samantha told him that she wanted to kill Bree and he should help her, that he was convinced that both sisters were dangerous, and he should break up with them. Then Bree told him that her and Samantha wasn’t just twins, but they were triplets and their third sister is called Jennilynn. She said Jennilynn was dangerous and she was the one that was planning to kill her, not Samantha. This time Bobby was scared for his life.

Samantha told Bobby that Bree was making it all up. Jennilynn was Bree’s imaginary friend and when Bree starts talking about Jaelynn, it means she was getting to be very dangerous. Of course, Bobby thought that both sisters were crazy. He desperately wants to break up with both sisters, but the thought of their sex appeal and characters he could not.

It wasn’t until Samantha took Bobby to the family cabin to kill Bree, he found out that Samantha was in fact jennilynn and she wanted to kill him instead. She knocked him in the head and tied him up, latter pouring honey all over him and letting red ants attack him. She left him there, pleading for his life. He finally got out of his restraints and fled the cabin. On his way towards home, he got a ride from Melanie who was sent there to get something for Bree. Bobby informed Melanie about Jennilyne and how dangerous she was. They drove over to Wade’s home to warn the twins, but when they got there Bobby realized the whole thing was just a prank that all his ex’s planed to get him back for his player ways. There wasn’t any Jennilynn and there wasn’t any third sister. Everything was just a prank.
