Cloud's POV

My eyes wandered to the desk next to me where Lucas sat. I can't believe the teacher made me sit next to him! I was definitely going to loose my mind before next semester. Lucas ruffled his dark, feathery, blond with his hand before he continues writing. He's wearing a dull but bright blue T-shirt with dusty gray jeans and black tennis shoes. We all may be Supernatural or "Magically Talented", but we still wear the same things as humans. I looked back at his hand scribbling down words. He's writing down a spell. I thought to myself. I looked at his golden eyes and started counting the colors. I had done this many times and every single time I counted more colors than the last. His eyes also changed from day to day which just intrigued me more. Yesterday is eyes were a milky brown with tiny emerald flecks. Today they were a bright golden with black dotting the golden iris. He had always seen me do this but never bothered to stop me. Everyone liked his strange eyes. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a girl scowl at me because I was right next to Lucas. He looked up from his paper, which had instructions written in his beautiful hand-writing in the black ink. He looked over at me and smiled.

"You want to read it?" Lucas asked me, seeing that I was staring at the paper. I nodded my head and he handed it to me. I saw another girl give me an ugly look out of the corner of my eye. I started reading the spell. It was a fire spell that Mrs. AngelWhip had taught us in our Spells Skills class, where we learned, learned how to control, and cast the spell given to us. His was a spell called Phoenix's Spark. Mine was called Salamnder's Torch. I had written mine down earlier. I started studying the paper. Me and Lucas always did this. After that class, I would wait for him to wright his spell down and then we would trade. Mrs. AngelWhip always did one spell for the girl and then another one for the boys and then the next day we would switch between them. Me and Lucas took the next class as the time to trade and learn the other one so we wouldn't have to waste time learning it in class. I handed him the paper I had the spell on and gave it to him. He started studying it as well. We did this for about 15 or 20 minutes. I heard Mr. CrossWolf clear his throat to get me and Lucas's attention.

"Passing notes in class Ms. Dove?" Mr. CrossWolf said

"No sir," I showed him the paper, "I'm studying for Mrs. AngelWhip's class" he took the paper from me and looked at the paper carefully then have it back to me. "Okay Ms. Dove, keep studying." He said. Mr. CrossWolf had piercing green eyes that almost seemed to look into your souls if you even dared to look him in the eye. He had black hair with tiny strains of silver  that were starting to show. He was in his mid-40's and I could already tell that he was going to age well. I turned my head to Lucas and he just smiled. He liked angering Mr. CrossWolf, wether it be pranking him or just giving him a bad feeling. I felt the butterflies in my stomach surge when he turned his head towards me and give me a cheeky smile, showing his cute dimples. Yep, I was definitely going to go mad before the end of the semester.

Lucas's POV

I smiled at her as I saw her tense up and watched the blush crawl up her face. I always like to see her pale skin turn bright red. Seeing her red eyes with a million colors always made me happy. Her long, silky black hair went all the way to her lower back. I looked at her pitch back pupils and I saw them dilate with nervousness, I stifled a laugh. She was really cute when she was nervous. Her shirt was a smoky gray and had black curlicue designs with distressed denim jeans and black ballet flats . The bell rang and me and Cloud picked our stuff up and started walking to our next class, which was literally called Supernatural class, where we learn about the supernatural and the supernatural learn more about themselves. I looked over to Cloud. She wasn't tense anymore but she definitely looked distracted.

"Hey Cloud, you okay?" I said

"Yeah, why do you ask?" She said, I saw her tense up again. Me and Cloud didn't really talk that much, much less converse about something.

"You just look really distracted." I said as calmly as I could. "I was just thinking about River. I haven't seen her all day." She said. "are you two like sisters or something?" I said. I never asked about River because she didn't seemed to like to talk about her. "She's my adopted sister, we were just friends before her parents died" she said. "Oh, sorry I asked" I said, seeing the sadness in her eyes that I hated seeing. "It's okay, I was meaning to tell you sooner or later anyway." She said in her rare 'whatever' voice. We made it to Mrs. IceFlare's, our Supernatural teacher's, classroom and entered. Me and Cloud sat next to each other and then my focus went to the front of the room where Mrs. IceFlare was. Mrs. IceFlare certainly lived up to her named as her hair was an icy white with pale blond streaks running through her hair and had firey golden-orange eyes that clashed with the paleness of her skin. She was wearing an ice blue dress with white ballet flats and a golden chain around her neck. She was defiantly a strange looking vampire, considering vampires normally wore duller colors. I saw River enter and Cloud smiled.

"Your late Ms. Dove." Mrs. IceFlare said.

"I'm sorry Mrs. IceFlare" River said and then headed to sit next to Damian. I was pretty sure that she liked that son of a Demon King, and that wasn't a joke either. That boy was the son of the Demon King himself, an he was also my best friend. He had dark tan skin with Charcoal black hair and his eyes matched his hair. His shirt was a bloody red and his pants and shoes were both black. River had a light blue shirt on with white pants and white tennis shoes. She had very light brown hair with a single blue highlight that matched her ocean blue eyes. River, like her stepsister sitting next me, looked rather cute to me. Both of them were adorable but I held a love for one that the other would never have.

Damian's POV

I watched as River sat next to me. She seemed a bit tense as she sat though. She never sat next to me, in fact she never sat next to any boy, but the one next to me was the only one open. I looked at her an I saw her shaking slightly. I chuckled quietly and put my hand on her back. She tensed up more and I started rubbing her back to calm her down. I had only done this to my best buds when they were nervous about something, but I liked River and I thought I couldn't hurt. She calmed down significantly and I saw her smile. I took my hand away from her back and sat at attention. I knew she was still smiling even though I wasn't looking at her.

***

I met River, Cloud, and Lucas after class when we had a free period for a while. Me and River say in the sunshine while Cloud and Lucas sat under a tree while Cloud was putting on Vampire Tonic, which is basically sunscreen only 10 times stronger so it would keep vampires from burning to a pile of gray ashes. We yammered on about a werewolf we saw roaming the school hallways. When Cloud had finally finished put on the tonic we heard someone yelling through a megaphone.

"Gooooooooood afternoon Matrix students!" He said in a rather enthusiastic voice. "I would like to announce the very first competition and there will be a dance afterwards. The competition will be... Spell casting!! You will require a partner and two wands of your choosing and spell books are allowed!" He said. I saw Cloud and Lucas look at eachother and smile excitedly. I already knew what they were thinking.

River's POV

Cloud and Lucas smiled excitedly at eachother, me and Damian already knew that they were going to enter that contest. I knew that Cloud was excellent spell caster as she had me and Mrs. AngelWhip to teach her not mention Lucas helping her learn faster by them trading the spells they had written down. They certainly had an excellent way of getting work and practice out of the way. If one of them understood what was being taught but the other didn't then they would teach the other how to do it. If one knew how to do it but couldn't manage to do it, the other would help. I personally thought it was adorable and cute, because I knew her about her crush for Lucas, but the other girls in the school didnt seem to like her being so close to Lucas when he just ignored them. I knew they didn't talk which made me wonder if they talked when they helped eachother. They would be perfect for the competition because of how well they worked together. My thoughts were cut off when I heard laughing.

I looked up at my friends. They were all laughing and looking at me.

"what?" I said confused. Lucas failed at stifling his laugh and Cloud and Damian just burst out laughing. "What are you all laughing at?"

"Oh nothing, River. Your mind is too innocent to understand" Damian said and then started laughing again. He maybe a demon, but he had and angelic laugh. I adored that for its irony. I just shrugged it off for what ever it was I apparently wouldn't understand. We talked about all the different supernatural beings and the competition for the rest of the free period. I felt throughly relaxed considering I never got to talk about this stuff with my other friends, who acted like prissy, snotty, good-for-nothing rich girls when I wasn't around.

We hurried off to Alchemy class, probably one of Cloud's favorite classes along with Spell Casting. Even though she was a vampire, she has the heart of a witch or sorceress like me. But something always bugged me about the teacher of our Alchemy class, Mr. ViperLion. He, well, um, how do I explain this in the nicest way possible? Um, he isn't the nicest teacher we have.

"Get in your seats children!" Mr. ViperLion yelled. See what I mean? He also isn't the healthiest teacher we have. He's a werewolf but unlike any werewolf I've ever seen, he was rather pale. Not pale as in naturally, but a sickly pale. He has black hair and beady red eyes that are flecked with black just making them harder to look at without flinching.Today he was wearing a black cloak, the actual school teacher attire I'm this school but you know, as long as your wearing clothes it doesn't really matter, right? I won't explain the rest of the class because, well, lets just say it didn't go over well. Classes were finally over and I could go back to my dorm with Cloud. Knowing her, she probably has dinner already made in the refrigerator. Living in the dorm rooms was like being at home because it had so much in it. I was glad we got this kind of dorms than the ones I've seen at one of my friend's sister's college where the dorms were just absolute wrecks. I'm also glad that Cloud is my roommate.

Mew got back to the dorm and Cloud pulled out the lasagna from the fridge and heated it up for us. I sat at the table and waited. I heard a loud beep! Cloud pulled the lasagna out and put on small white plates and pulled out the silverware. One for me and one for her. We ate silently and when we finished, I washed out the plates. I went to my room and put on my pajamas. My pajama shirt was a light purple, almost lavender, with lace at the hem of it and at the front of the collar which only went to my collarbone and the pants were the same purple with lace at the ankles. Cloud was wearing the same pajamas only they were a dull green. We decided to go to sleep and we said good night to eachother and then we went on our way. I had to wait about 5 minutes with the intoxicating full moon and the howls of werewolves wandering campus before I fell into a deep, deep, sleep.
