"FUCK YOU!" I yell at the now empty street, plopping down onto a nearby bench. Great. I'm now stuck ten miles away from the city, with no car, and a dead phone. Now what? I feel a drop of wetness land on my arm, quickly followed by another. Looking up, I notice that the clouds have moved in. The rain starts to fall quickly, and lightning strikes, followed by a boom of thunder. "GREAT!" I yell. "JUST GREAT!" Suddenly a car came around the corner, pulling up next to the bench I'm sitting on and rolls down the window
"Can I help you?" I ask dryly.

"Actually, I think you can," he responds.

I stare at him flatly. "What?" He asks.

"Well I'm soaking wet, stranded, and 10 miles from the cit-" he cuts me off before I can finish.

"Well I'm trying to get to the Ivy Hotel, but I can't find it, and my gps is no help. Also you asked me me if I could help you. So can you help me find the hotel Or not?"

"Well, I obviously could, since I have been living here for 3 years, an-" he cuts me off again.

"A simple yes would have done sinc-" This time it's me who cuts him off.

"Can I just get a ride back to the city? I'll give you directions to the hotel." I offer.

"Fine," he says, "Get in the car"

Getting into the car, I get my first good look at him. "Well look who cleaned up nicely," I say.

"What do you mean?" He asks.

"Do you seriously not recognize me?" I humph.

He looks at me questioningly.

I glare at him. "Well, now this is offensive! We dated for two years, Jackson!" I exclaim.

"Amber?"

"Finally," I say, smirking at him.

"Well your attitude certainly hasn't changed," he observes.

I glare at him. Of all the people that could have picked me up, it has to be him. "Why did we break up anyway?" I ask.

"Well, still impatient, aren't you?" He asks, avoiding the question.

I glare at him. "Answer the question!"

"Fine, fine...." we continue the conversation as he drives us back to the city. Little did I know was that that ride was going to change everything.
