You let a person into your soul and watch them twist your mistakes.
Chip pieces of who you once were into insignificance.
changing everything they hate about you to fill the void missing in their empty shell of once was.
Ripping you apart.
Stripping you down to build their ego.
And then, just as you feel your inner most being destroyed for another's gain.
Someone plants a seed.
A Tender expression of love.
It grows.
the roots twisting through your arteries, filling the cracks.
The petals open and let the harsh rays of the sun engulf the dark boiling poison.
The destruction of you no longer grotesque.
A sunflower in place of pain.

I liked this. Even though at this stage of my love life I don't agree with it much, but still, I liked it. As Ben said, I too am not that great a poet but I'm sure you are bound to get good reviews on this one. It's Great.
Powerful, and very real for so many. Both heartbreaking and beautiful. I loved it.
Beautiful piece here Alison, turn a negative into a positive
