Summary

Taren It Up is Olivia's story. This story is one of three that tie together, TAREN IT UP, CARMENS STORY AND NICKS STORY, I hope that they will read separately as well. Its a lot of the same story with three different points of view so if you read one completely through you will find similarities in the events but hopefully enough of each persons point of view to make them unique. After CARMENS STORY and NICKS STORY, there is a follow up story for Nick and Carmen called FIGHT OR FLIGHT. I hope you enjoy all three stories. This was one of my first stories to post online and I have learned a lot about my own writing since then. I did have this one for a long time and worked on it off and on and when I came across a place to post and go public I went for it. There is a lot of chapters because I had a hard time cutting things, its like asking a mother to only pick a few pictures of their child and then throw the rest away, once I was invested I couldn't cut anything. I hope you enjoy all three characters point of view and know that my future material has improved at least a little. Thanks for reading.

She rested a cheek against his chest and wrapped her arms around his waist. Feeling his tight chest against her cheek and his smell engulf her. Olivia was buzzing from all this new feeling. The dragons were going around starting campfires in her insides, things were melting.

Taren buried his face against her hair breathing in her scent. She had it pulled back in a long braid today. He wanted to run his fingers through it and kiss her neck.

They danced until the song ended. Taren finally released her.

“Thanks.” he stated. He cupped her face. She feared he was going to kiss her again.

“For what?” Olivia questioned.

He smiled. “For the dance. For letting me kiss you.”

She started to pull back.

“Don't leave yet.” He pleaded.

Geez those small campfires just grew to a burning field. She stood still waiting. She anticipated his kiss this time. She knew it was coming. No surprises.

“I'm sorry.” He apologized.

She looked up at him. She didn't know what he was apologizing for.

He seemed to read her mind. “For making you uncomfortable.” He smiled. “I can't stop myself.” He brought her lips to his and smothered them.

Olivia responded with a little more courage this time. She let him kiss her and she kissed back following  his actions. Her hands gripped the t-shirt at his sides. She was afraid he would find out how inexperienced she was if he kept kissing her.

“I really like kissing you.” He placed a light kiss on her lips.

She giggled. “I like you kissing me.” She admitted.

He smiled and nodded. “So why do I try so hard to fight against it?” He thought aloud.

Olivia searched his face, stared at his lips. “Because I'm a distraction.”  She recalled from the video.

He straightened up and stared down at her. “I said that. Didn't I?”

She nodded slightly.

He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his embrace. It started to come together for him. Her reluctance and why she avoided him. “I'm sorry” he stated hugging her. “It's not your fault.” He pulled back to look at her. “Okay?”

She nodded. “Okay.”

He smiled down at her. “It's these lips. I can't imagine not kissing them. It's distracting.” He kissed them again.

Now we have a forest fire. This is fixing to melt her completely. She smiled at him. “You have to stop doing that.” She pleaded.

“I know.” He smiled and then frowned slightly “But I don't know why.” He cupped her face between his palms.

She brought her hands up to his wrists. “Because I don't do one night stands and you don't do relationships.” She replayed his words back to him.

“Oh. That.” He smiled at her. “What if I changed my mind?”

She looked up at him. “I can't do a relationship either.” She whispered.

“Why not?”

“I have Nick.”

He didn't say what he was thinking. They weren't dating and he was certain Olivia responded to his kiss like she was willing to explore further. She pulled back he reminded himself. She didn't want to be with him. She told him to stop.

“Taren.” A voice from behind Olivia startled her. She didn’t bother with turning to see who it was, she was more interested in slipping away. “Are you done with your dance?”

Oh shit, Houston we have a problem.

Olivia eyed Taren. He started to protest but Olivia put a hand on his chest and shook her head just enough for him to see. She turned to the woman behind her. “Yes, he’s done with me.” She faced Taren again. “Thanks for the dance.” She started to walk away.

Taren grabbed her hand stopping her, “you don’t have to leave.”

“You said we were leaving.” The blonde stated in a last attempt to remind Taren of their unspoken plans.

Olivia pulled her hand from Taren's and looked at the blonde. “Have a good night.”

Taren watched as she walked away before he turned to the blonde who was obviously unhappy,  “Taren could tell she was on the verge of turning to leave all he would have to do is say something or walk away but he knew if he was alone he would go after Olivia, he wanted to follow her so bad.

He hoped that he could pull off charming tonight because sticking to this blonde was the only way he was safe from Olivia.

I’m sorry” he stated “it’s been a long day.”

“I bet.” She stated flatly.

He put a smile on his face. “Can I make it up to you?” he held out his palm for a dance.

She smiled back and put a hand in his.

“What did you say your name was?’

“Its Amy.”

“Amy.” He repeated. He started them dancing. “I should warn you, Amy, I always leave alone.”

“That’s a shame.” She replied. “I could do a lot to relieve the stress from a long day.”

Taren stopped dancing almost tempted, only one thing came to mind, Olivia’s face. “No offense because I have no doubt that you could, but one night with you would make tomorrow even longer.”

“Does that mean you have a girlfriend?”

He decided not to answer, of course he didn’t have a girlfriend but he couldn’t imagine being with anyone else, there was only one woman he wanted to be around and that woman seemed to be out of his reach, or at least he needed to keep her at arms length.
