“I guess she didn’t take it well.” Sasha said whilst walking pass him across the parking lot.

Michael looked like he was about to go off. He followed. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”

“You’re going to have a hell of a time trying to win her back.”

“Are you that jealous that you can’t see her happy? See me happy?”

Sasha stopped beside her private vehicle where her chaperone was awaiting her in it. “You had no future with her, she had none with you.”

“You’re a real nasty little bitch, you know that?  You sabotaged my relationship and you don’t give a fuck.”

“How was I to know she would show up when she did?  I know I’m a witch, but I’m not that good.”

“I don’t know what Alex and I had, Sasha, but it was growing.  You don’t get something like that every day.”

Sasha analyzed his body language.  She chuckled. “My God! Were you falling in love with her?  Is that what’s going on here?”  She opened her car door but then turned back to him. “Do you even know what love is?”

“And you do?”

“I know what it isn’t,” She quickly remarked.

Michael grew even more irate. “Why don’t you do all of us a favor and stay the fuck away from me.”

“That’s going to be hard seeing we have to work together next week.”

“Well until then, stay away from me.  You know what; I see it now… that’s the reason she keeps her distance from you.  You’re conceited and think only of yourself.”

“Well… yes, that’s true but that’s not why she despises me.  Seeing you with me like that must have been like déjà vu for her.  You see, Alex and I were never close, but ever since I fucked her fiancé, things took a turn for the worse.”

Michael gaped then scoffed. “You slept with your sister’s fiancé?”

“Half sister,” She corrected like it was no big deal. “Besides, that was three years ago.  You’d think she’d get over it by now.”

He passed his hands through his hair. “And now this.” He said to himself.  He was about to walk away, but decided to give her a piece of his mind. He had this scornful, bitter yet, despaired look on his face. “You know, when I first saw you, I thought you were the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen.  And I should now; I came across quite a few.  Every single thing about you was perfect.  You had my attention.”  He watched her from head to toe. “But who knew inside that pretty little package was something sinister and nasty… and heartless.  Your sister and I had something… I genuinely like her.  You don’t destroy people’s lives for your own personal vendetta.”  Michael continued, “No wonder you’re lonely; it’s because you’re a bitch, Sasha.  You think of no one but yourself.  And you know what else?  You’re your father’s pet.  You’re too scared to walk away from daddy’s shadow.  You need to get a life.  It’s not too late for you; if you change now, there’s a twenty-five per cent chance you will find someone who gives a fuck about you.”

Sasha stood there, looking right back at him, absorbing every single word that he threw at her.  A crooked smile crept up her face.  She lightly clapped. “Bravo, DiNozzo.  But before you cast the first stone at me, maybe you should take a long hard look at your life.  You just described your life in a nutshell.  What makes us so different you and I?  What makes you the saint and I the sinner?  I’ve never forced you to do anything you didn’t want to do so don’t blame me for your mishaps.  Yes, and I too remember how we met.  I didn’t force you to abandon your…. your girlfriend that night.  I didn’t force you for the rest of that night either.  Everything we did up to ten minutes ago… that was of your own free will.  I guess that’s just us…. to think of no one but ourselves; to hell with who we hurt in the process – right?” Michael was about to speak but she hushed him. “Be careful what you say Mr. DiNozzo.” She then laughed. “I’m rubber you’re glue,”

DiNozzo had this pitiful and sympathetic expression.  “It must be lonely not having someone to love and someone to love you in return.  I really do feel sorry for you.  And you’re right; all the criticism I send your way does mirror my life and my actions, but the difference between you and I, is that I admit I’ve done wrong, but you…  Sasha, I honestly hope that your body holds til you’re ninety because really that’s all you do have to offer.”  Her smile slowly faded, yet he continued. “You lack substance.  Alex is everything you can’t be and you see that, and your father sees that, and I saw that.  So if all this was really a game to you, what really have you won?”

There was silence for a couple of seconds before he turned away and left her standing there. “I told you she wouldn’t stay.” She said.

“Indeed you did.” He said still walking away.  He didn’t bother turning back. “You will get what’s coming to you one day, Bella.  What goes around,”

“See you next week.” She uttered, got into her car, and signaled the drive to move..

Michael slowly stopped in his tracks after hearing her engine fade away into the distance.  He stood there all alone in the parking lot.  He sighed deeply and passed his left hand over his face. “DiNozzo, what the fuck’s wrong with you?  This isn’t you.  Get this feeling of heartache outta your system.  Flush it out.  You don’t need this.”  Michael sighed once more. He passed his hands over his face. “You don’t want to go through this strife again.  The last one took a toll.Alex did the right thing.” He tried to convince himself. “Everything happens for a reason.”  He rest his hands on his hip and nodded. “She did the right thing.” But then he paused. “Fuck!”

He looked like a mad man talking to himself out in the open space. He paced the concrete back and forth.  He then got out his cell to call Alex, but then stopped.  Instead, he took refuge on a bench underneath a lamp post, laid his elbows on his knees and bowed his head in sorrow.  He stayed in that position for quite a while, reflecting on the path his life had taken up to that very second. “What the fuck is wrong with me?” was all he said.  He passed his hands over his face.  His mind was in a tangled mess.  And he didn’t know what to do. “What is wrong with me?”
