One Week Later

Alex was walking pass the reception area in the hospital when she was stopped by the counter.  Liz was standing there with a huge bouquet of red roses and had taken it upon herself to read the card.  She glanced at Alex.

“I am so jealous right now.  Whatever you’re doing to his guy, keep on doing it because he’s hooked on you bad, and I mean bad.”

“These are for me?”

“It surely ain’t for me.  My name isn’t on the card.”

With a pleasant smile on her face, Alex took the card from her.  It read: Had wonderful time last night and even a more wonderful time this morning. My head’s been spinning for the past week.Thinking of you. Michael.

Liz leaned in front the counter and questioned quietly. “What happened last night?”

Alex grabbed her flowers. “None of your business Liz,” she laughed.

“His head’s been spinning for the past week? Does he need an exorcist?”

“Bye Liz,” She laughed and headed for her office.

“Does he have a brother?”

In the meantime, Michael was in the studio doing a few shots with Sasha for the ad campaign.  She had on a blood red beaded gown, and he, his signature black suit.  They hardly spoke when they arrived to work and it continued that way for the first couple of photo shots, although they were stuck to each other in posing.  They were face to face with one another, like they were about to kiss.  Again, Mason was the photographer.

“You’ve been quite scarce.” She softly stated. “Not showing up to any events.  Not good for business you know.”

“Didn’t think you’d notice.” Michael said.

“I notice everything,”

“Michael,” Mason called out. “I want you to place your hand on the side of her face and kiss her.”

A wicked, yet subtle smile crept up Sasha’s face.  Michael looked down at her blankly.  He laid his hand on her smooth warm neck, his fingertips felt her hair.  He lowered his head and gently laid his lips unto hers.

“Is that how you kiss my sister when you’re fucking her?” She whispered, teasing him.  “That was very feeble Michael.  I’m sure you can do better than that.”

DiNozzo slowly let go of the woman and took two steps away.  He glanced at the photographer. “Can we take a five?  I need a break.”

Mason watched him and then Sasha, sighed and reluctantly turned away.

Michael then approached her with a hostile look on his face. “What I do is none of your concern.”

“So you are fucking her?” Sasha chuckled at that. “I must give you some credit.  You are good.  Alex doesn’t fall for just anyone you know.”

“What concern is it of yours who I see or who your sister sees?”

“Because she’s my sister!” Sasha grew upset, but then lowered her voice. “You can’t be fucking the two of us.”

Michael looked to his side careful not to catch any of the crew’s attention.  He roughly grabbed her by the arm and walked to the corner of the room. He shoved her onto the wall. “Now you listen to me,” he commanded while he pointed at her. “What we had… if we had anything at all, is all gone.  You made it clear that nothing can come out of this fling we were having.”

“What are you telling me Michael?  Are you trying to tell me that you’re ready for a serious relationship?  Is that what’s going on?  Why don’t you try putting you life together first before adding more people into it.”

“What are you talking about?  You keep saying that. I’m perfectly happy,  I am happy.”

“Sasha…”

She raised her left brow at him. “Do you remember how we first met?” She watched his reaction. “Yes you do.  Do you remember the thrill of not knowing what to expect from one another?”  She got off the wall and took a step closer. “Do you remember the sex?  We fucked one another over and over again.”

“Why are you telling me this?”

“Because I want to remind you of the type of person you are.  You are a playboy.  You don’t care about anything or anyone around you.  You don’t have the time or patience to have a relationship or to see it bloom.  That’s not you.  Serious is not in you.”

“You don’t know me.”

“Don’t I?” She laid her fingers on his chest. “I know what you want.  You want me.”

Michael didn’t budge. Her words did not penetrate him. “I’ve already had you.”

“Yet you want more.  I can see it in your eyes.  You’re trying so hard to be good, so damn hard.  We make a great team you and me.  And you know that.”

“You’re poison,”

“A poison you can’t get enough of.  We thrive on one another.  We belong to one another.  No one else is worth it.”

Her last remark stung him.  “Alex is worth it.”

“Alex?  Alex is nothing like us,”

“That’s right.  I like her Sasha, a lot.  She brings out the best in me.  She’s a great person and…” He then stopped. “Why do I feel the need to explain myself to you?”

“Maybe to prove to yourself that what you have with her is real. And it’s not,”

“And what do you know about what’s real?” he quickly asked.

“Because I’m not a pretender.  You on the other hand, is.  You can’t hide who you are, and she’s going to see that.  You are not capable of holding on to a serious meaningful relationship, not with someone like my sister.”

Michael just glared at her.

After the shoot, they were both being transported back to their hotel rooms in a black limousine; they were seated across one another.  It was quiet for about fifteen minutes until she broke the silence.

“Let’s go out tonight.  I know this wonderful club down town. You’ll love it.”

“I don’t think so.” Michael answered while scrolling his cell.

“Why not?  It’s Saturday night.  Let us enjoy this before we get home tomorrow.”  She received no response.  “Don’t tell me that you’re just going to retire to your room.”

He didn’t bother lifting his eyes to her as he continued his chat on his cell.

Sasha examined his facial expression and the smirk on his face.  It was obvious that he was chatting with a woman.

“So how deeply are you involved with my sister?” She provoked.

She succeeded.  He glanced at her. “I really can’t see how this is any of your business.”

“She won’t stay with you for long you know.”

“Why’s that?  Or is just a curse put on the Petrovskii women; first your mother left your father, you…. You can’t decide what the hell you want, and now it’s Alex’s turn?”

Sasha’s smile dropped by the statement about her mother.  She glared at him coldly, but then brushed it off.  She crossed her legs and said to him. “How does it feel fucking two sisters?  Does it turn you on taking us in turns like that?”  She awaited an answer but received none.  He concentrated on his cell.  “Is she any good?” She teased.

“I don’t want to discuss this.”

“What do you want to do then?”

Michael watched her and the gleam that had suddenly appeared in her eyes.  He glanced at her long slender legs, then focused on his cell once again.

“Are you scared of me now?”

“I don’t know why you keep pushing it.  It’s been practically two months since I touched you.  I won’t do that to Alex.”

Sasha nevertheless continued.”You know Michael, we have only two more weeks left until this campaign is over.  Why don’t you say we go out with a bang?”

DiNozzo appeared even afraid to ask. “What do you mean?”

Sasha simply smiled.  He in return dropped his focus back to his cell, not wanting to even hither what that smile was about.

As soon as the plane landed the following morning, Michael’s first stop was at Alex’s apartment.  With a bouquet of flowers in one hand and his duffle bag in the other, he knocked and waited.  The door slowly opened a couple of seconds later.

“Hi,” he greeted with a huge grin on his face. “God, I missed you.  I got you these.” He said and handed her the bouquet, but she did not accept.  His grin slowly faded. “What’s wrong?”

Alex said nothing.  With her head down, she simply opened the door a bit wider.  Michael’s attention shifted from her, to the person standing in the middle of her living room.  It was Mr. Petrovskii, her father.  By the look on both their faces, the discussion before his arrival was extremely intense.  Nonetheless, Michael entered the apartment and she closed the door behind him.
