It had been one year since the war had had ended, but its effects could still be felt all over the world. The city that had once been the Capital of the Union had been destroyed, the president publicly hanged by Alliance forces. The enemy even boldly declared the war was over and planned to hold a victory rally.

But the Alliance forgot about the allies of the Union, they had become enraged at the atrocities the enemy had committed against the critically weakened Union. It was suggested to launch a secret attack on the rally, but none of the alliance felt there would be a chance to win the following battle. Until they got a call from a town that had been ravished by war.

It seemed impossible, but it was soon confirmed to be a fact. One woman wearing chains and a dress had killed nearly eighty-five men. When the Union forces arrived, they found her covered in the blood of her enemies holding a pistol in one hand and a straight razor in the other. Not only had she killed eighty-four of the best Alliance soldiers, but she had killed the man who led them.

Was is bravery or insanity, no one knew but whatever it was it inspired the Union Allies. Indeed the war ended that day, but it wasn’t the Alliance that had won. Technically it was the Union and it allies that claimed the title of victor, but no celebrations were had. No parades, no drinks of triumph, only a silent and somber peace as everyone returned home to clean up the mess.

No one had been spared the horrors of war, but no one had experience quite like she did. When she was debriefed, she told them every detail of what happened to her. She said it all in a serious hushed tone, never pausing or crying. She was done feeling sorry for herself, she was just ready to retire from the military and go home.

She had told them everything that had happened, or at least that’s what they thought. Among the eighty-five enemy bodies were twelve Union bodies. She had reported they had been executed after she started attacking. But that wasn’t the truth. They didn’t need to know how she put the bullet between the eyes of her brain dead men. She didn’t want anyone to know about how desperately she tried to bring the senses back to her sisters in arms. They wouldn’t want to know that she had to kill her own team…

A year later, the Union was finally recovering from the war and so was the woman. Retirement from the military brought out a new side in her, a political side. It started with her becoming the mayor for her home village, but when calls for a new president came around many knew who to ask. The woman took a long time to decide, but in the end she decide to run for office. There had never been a more landslide victory in the history of the Union.

As she stood on the balcony of the new presidential office, the warrior thought about everything that had happened. She was tired of violence, tired of bloodshed, tired of war. This was her time to lead her country into a new future of peace.

She may of lost the battle, but she won the war!
