Moving into the living room after their evening meal, Lacey stood in the patio doorway, gazing across the garden. She had enjoyed her evening with Evan but had now begun to feel nervous, she knew she would be sleeping with him that night.

Evan stood in the doorway next to her, she looked up at him and nervously smiled, she felt her cheeks burn up and turned away from him.

“Look at me Lacey.” Evan said stroking her arm.

Lacey began to shake, she nervously licked her lips and turned to face him. She could barely breath as his large warm hands slowly moved around her waist. He gazed into her eyes and leaned towards her, paused and pulled her closer to him. Lacey’s heart raced at the touch of his warm lips against hers, she closed her eyes and quietly moaned as he gently eased his tongue into her mouth and passionately kissed her. Evan’s body crushed her against the wall, the heat of his body excited her, her body tingled all over. Lacey ran her fingers through his hair, kissing him just as passionate, she felt weak. No one had ever kissed her like that before.

Evan moved away and gazed into her eyes. “You just don’t realise how beautiful you are, do you.”

Lacey tried to move away. “Please don’t say that.”

Evan gripped her waist to stop her moving. “Why, because you think you aren’t.” He slowly ran his fingers through her hair. “I just wish you could see what I see.”

Lacey could feel herself getting weaker, tears slowly began to fill her eyes, no one had ever spoken to her like that before.

Evan held his hand out to her and smiled. Lacey’s heart was thudding in her chest; she couldn’t believe how he had just made her feel and wanted him now. She took hold of his hand and in silence, they walked upstairs to his bedroom.

In the early hours of the morning, Evan lay in his bed with Lacey in his arms, he couldn’t understand why he was feeling the way he was, he had only known her a few days. He had never taken a girl to his house before, when he slept with anyone he always went to theirs and always wore a condom but tonight he hadn’t. It was different with Lacey and he didn’t know why.

As Lacey lay against Evans warm body stroking his chest, she couldn’t believe she had just lost her virginity to a man she barely knew. Earlier on in the day she was ashamed that she was going to sleep with him and thought the first time was going to be painful. Evan may have been rough with her but she had enjoyed him.

Evan watched Lacey slowly drifting off to sleep. With her face flushed and hair messed up, her eye makeup was slightly smudged, she still looked beautiful to him.

Waking up the next morning, Lacey was in bed on her own, she could hear Evan in the shower. Squashing her face into the pillow she smiled to herself, she had enjoyed last night with him. Evan came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around him and lay on the bed next to her. He moved her hair away from her face and kissed her and told her to go and have a shower, get dressed then meet him on the patio for breakfast.

When Lacey climbed out of bed she felt a little conscious of herself as she walked naked towards the bathroom. But the thought of Evan watching her, gave her butterflies.

Evan had left the bedroom by the time Lacy had finished her shower. Wrapped in a towel, she lay on the bed and thought about how he had made her feel the night before and how she had felt earlier when she knew he was watching her walk to the shower. Then reality hit her and she began to feel stupid, why was she feeling like that about Evan? This was just business until the debt was paid and all she was, was his whore.

Dressing herself in pale pink summer dress, she brushed her hair and put some makeup on, she was beginning to like how she felt when she took a bit of pride in herself. While she rolled herself a couple of cigarettes and thought about Jack again, she missed him so much. Lacey wanted her first time to be with him but Evan had taken that chance away from her now. When she left Evans, would Jack want to know her if he knew what she had done with him?

When Lacey went to meet Evan on the patio, he was reading his newspaper. Lacey didn’t speak she just walked past him, sat on the steps, lit one of her roll ups and sat in silence looking across the garden.

Evan could feel the tension coming from her and didn’t have a clue what could be wrong, she seemed alright when he had left her in the bedroom. “Lacey, what’s wrong?” he asked folding his paper up.

“I need to leave today.” She answered still looking across the garden. “I’ve got see a nurse at the clinic.”

Evan laughed. “Why?”

She turned to face him. “Because I need the morning after pill.”

“You’re not leaving here; I will call my doctor and he will sort you out with whatever you need.” He began to pour the coffee. “Now are you going to have some breakfast?”

Lacey rubbed her face and could feel herself getting angry with him. “No, I don’t want any breakfast!” She stood up. “And I don’t want to sit with you at your poxy table!” she shouted and went to walk back into the house.

Evan was shocked, why was she suddenly being like that with him? He jumped up off his chair and grabbed her arm. “What’s wrong with you now?” he growled.

Lacey struggled to pull away from him but he was holding on tight to her and she began to cry. “This isn’t right, I don’t want to sit and eat with you like we’re friends. I’m just a piece of meat that you’re playing with to pay a stupid debt off!”

Evan swung her around and slammed her down into a chair. “You will do whatever I say, now sit and have some breakfast!” Evan clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, once again she was driving him mad. He sat down and they glared across the table at each other. The housekeeper brought them breakfast but Lacey wouldn’t eat it, she sat in silence with her head in her hands.

When Evan finished his breakfast, he asked Lacey if she would join him in his office. He needed to discuss something with her but she ignored him and walked off into the garden. Thinking it would be best to leave her until she calmed down, Evan let her go, if she tried to run there was no way out for her.

Evan stood in his office window watching Lacey pick flowers from his garden, she lay down on the grass smelling them, he still couldn’t understand what was wrong with her.

Later in the day, Evan couldn’t see Lacey in the garden and hadn’t got a clue where she was. He rang Jim to ask if he could see where she was on the security camera’s, he told him that he was in the kitchen, talking to the staff. Evan told him to bring her to his office, he didn’t want her down there.

Ten minutes later Evan heard screaming and shouting in the distance, he laughed at the thought of Jim struggling to bring her to him. The door burst open and Jim walked in carrying Lacey was over his shoulder, she was punching him on his back and kicking her legs around like a wildcat. Lacey glared at Evan when Jim dropped her on the chair in front of his desk and walked out muttering to himself.

Lacey turned around to watch Jim leave the room as soon as the door shut she jumped up off the chair to run. Evan guessed what she was going to do. He grabbed her around the waist, carried her across the room and slammed her down on the sofa then sat on top of her.

Lacey tried her hardest to push him off her. “You don’t scare me!” She screamed.

Evan held her hands above her head and laughed. “Don’t I?” he looked at her with amusement then gripped her face. “No more games now Lacey.” He tried to kiss her but Lacey closed her mouth tight and turned her face away from him.

Evan sat back and laughed, he was enjoying her playing hard to get. They stared at each other for what seemed like forever and Lacey suddenly felt nervous, the way he was looking at her once again gave her butterflies.

Evan stood up, pulled her off the sofa and walked her to his desk and sat her down. “We need to talk now.”  He picked up a piece of paper off his desk and sat down. He read it and then looked at Lacey. “We have friends coming to stay at the weekend, Ralph and his wife Charlotte. You have three days to learn how to behave around them, they are important and need to be treated with respect.”

Lacey felt confused, “We have, don’t you mean you have, they’re not my friends?”

Evan glared across the desk at her. “While you are living with me they are your friends too. I will be spending most of my time with Ralph discussing business. It’ll be nice for you to have some female company, maybe you can learn a few things from Charlotte.”

“Like what?” she asked.

“Acting like a lady instead of a.” Evan then stopped what he was going to say.

Lacey’s heart sunk, she knew what he was going to say. “Go on finish what you were going to say.”

Evan grimaced. “I apologise, I was going to say street urchin, but I didn’t mean it, I’m sorry.”

Lacey’s eyes began to fill with tears, it was too late to say sorry. If that’s what he thought about her then why did he want her in his house? Oh yeah she forgot, it was just to fuck her until the debt was paid off. Lacey scratched her head and took a deep breath, she tried her hardest to not look hurt. She stood up and forced the best smile she could. “When your friends visit I will behave. And you can fuck me whenever you want. The sooner the debt’s paid, the better then I can go back home.”

“Back to the streets?” Evan snorted.

Lacey leaned over the desk. “Yes the streets, my home.” She tilted her head to look at the time on his watch. “If you don’t mind I’ll go upstairs out of your way. I will see you later.” She began to walk out of the office then stopped and walked back to the desk and picked his cigarettes up. “You burned my money so I can’t afford any now, so I’ll have these.”

Lacey lay on the bed for the rest of the day watching television. In the evening, she showered and dressed in a short white dress, once again inspecting herself in the mirror, she did feel good for a split second then her heart sunk. Knowing it was for a short time she shouldn’t let herself get carried away with all this. She began to understand why some women become prostitutes, some of them did it for drugs or just to survive or maybe to look as good as she felt right then. Running her fingers through her hair to ruffle it up slightly she then rang through to the kitchen and asked the cook to meet her on the patio.

When Evan went to see if Lacey was ready for their evening meal, she wasn’t in the bedroom. He rang Jim to see if he could see where she was in the house, he told her that she was sitting on the patio steps.

Evan stood by the patio door watching Lacey smoke, by the side of her were two cupcakes with candles in them. When she finished smoking she lit a candle on one of the cupcakes, when she blew it out, he heard her say, happy birthday mum.

Evan sat beside her, he could see tears streaming down her face and went to put his hand on hers for comfort.

Lacey moved away from him and shook her head. “Don’t Evan, let me deal with this on my own like I always do.” She picked up the other cupcake and lit the candle, she blew it out, closed her eyes and didn’t say anything.

“Who was that one for?” Evan asked.

Gazing across the garden before she answered him, Lacey sniffled a little. “It’s for me, me and my mum share the same birthday.”

Evan sighed. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“What do you care?” she said as she stood up.

Evan stood up and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Do you remember much about her.”

Lacey laughed. “Yes I remember a lot about her and just lately I’m beginning to understand why the way she was. I’m actually a lot like her now, you know.”

“In what way?” He curiously asked.

“She was a whore too.” Lacey pushed his arms away from her and walked into the house.

I read the entire story today and I love it. I'm sure Jack is so worried about her I know he has feelings for her! I know Evan has feelings for her as well. Poor girl and her sad past. Being on the streets is all she knows she doesn't know life's luxuries. She's fighting herself between the streets and being with Evan I think. Being with a guy like Evan or being on the streets I don't know which is actually better for her. I can't wait to see what you have in store for her next! Can't wait for the next chapter!

Thank you so much, I've been torn which way to go with Lacey's life, There's still a few bumps along the way for her but she's a survivor. I hope you enjoy the rest of it :)

She makes me feel so sad for her. That she thinks so lowly of herself now! I wonder what Jack's doing. Probably looking everywhere for her. He probably figures Evans got her. I don't know. I don't know why, but I like Evan. I've always been a sucker for the bad boys.

She thinks she's just like her mother even though Evan has told her she's not a whore,
I think most of the readers of this like Evan, :)

Can't say what would be best for the poor girl but I'd see her fighting being forced to be friends with some chick she doesn't know. Hopefully Char is kind.

Oh, Kitty, this chapter just cut me through and through. No wonder she's having the bad mood swings today. Great development here.
