Bella’s stomach churned as she paced the living room waiting for Blakey to return with the pregnancy test. Tear’s streamed down her cheeks; her new life with Blakey had already hit a huge problem and she was scared of losing him. She didn’t want to return to Regis, not because of Howard, it was because she’d be alone again in a world she wasn’t happy in.

Dreading the test results and telling Blakey about her time with Howard and how she’d lied about being pregnant to hurt him, she was terrified that he would end things with her for being so cruel. Even though she had enough money to buy herself a house anywhere in the country and move on, she didn’t want to do that. She wanted to be with Blakey and live in his cozy little apartment above the garage.

Standing by the window, Bella held her hand over her mouth and wretched with nerves. Blakey had just entered the side street.

Running to the bathroom, she fell on her knees in front of the toilet and began to throw up.

“Bella!” Blakey called running up the stairs, he could hear her choking. Rushing into the bathroom his heart went out to her, she looked fragile as she looked up from the toilet with red swollen eyes and tears streaming down her face. He could see she’d worked herself into a state while he was out. Rinsing a flannel in warm water, he kneeled next to her and gently wiped her face. Placing his hands under her armpits he raised her off the cold tile floor. “I’m sorry!” Bella sniffled wrapping her arms around his neck and held onto him for dear life.

“Everything’s going to be ok,” Blakey quietly spoke, he could feel her body shaking as he hugged her tight. He carried her into the living room and gently sat her on the sofa. “I’ll make us a coffee then you can do the test when you’ve calmed down.” He half-smiled leaving the room.

Bella had never felt so ill in her life as she curled up on the sofa. Tears slowly trickled down her face while she watched Blakey make the coffee.

Blakey entered the living room, he passed Bella her mug of coffee then sat on the cozy chair with his. His head was spinning with what had gone on, he didn’t know what to say to her. All he knew was, that he’d fallen hard for her. Glancing across the room at her, his heart ached, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. But what if she was pregnant, could he raise another man’s child with her? Taking a deep breath as he reached for his tobacco tin, he knew he could. At the age of twenty-six, he’d had five girlfriends and had never felt a connection with them like he did with Bella. He knew in his heart he’d found his soul mate with her; she was the love of his life and he was prepared to stand by her.

Bella sipped her coffee while she watched Blakey rolling a cigarette. With him sitting away from her, she thought it was definitely over between them. “Where’s the pregnancy test?” She asked placing her coffee on the small glass table in front of her.

“In the kitchen,” he answered lighting his cigarette. “Why?”

“Because I can’t cope with us not talking. We need to get this sorted.” She answered rushing to the kitchen and grabbed the small white pharmacy bag from the unit and made her way to the bathroom.

Bella’s hands shook as she ripped open the package, she quickly scanned the instructions, pulled her jeans and thong down, and sat on the toilet. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she placed the stick between her legs and began to pee on it. Never in her life had she felt so scared.

Blakey flopped back in his seat as he took a long draw of his cigarette waiting for Bella to come out of the bathroom.

Bella sat on the edge of the bath trying to count the time for the test stick to show a result.

Wondering why Bella was taking so long, Blakey stood by the bathroom door and gently knocked on it. “Are you ok in there?”

“Yes,” She mumbled feeling annoyed with him disturbing her. She was trying to count three minutes but had lost count now.

“Have you done the test?” He asked entering the bathroom.

“Yes, I’m trying to count three minutes,” She rubbed her head in frustration. “Do you think I’ve been here three mins?”

“You’ve been in here ten minutes,” Blakey choked a little laugh pointing to the stick in her hand. “I think the result is more than ready now.”

Bella felt confused, it only felt like seconds ago she’d peed on the stick. “This is it then,” she mumbled taking a deep breath as she uncurled her fingers off the stick and looked down. There was a single blue line in the tiny window. “Oh my god!” She gasped staring up at Blakey with wide eyes as she held the stick up for him to see. “I’m not pregnant!” she cried bursting into tears.

Blakey grabbed the stick off her and stared in shock at it. With the weight she’d gained, he really thought she was pregnant. He gazed down at Bella who was sobbing in her hands. “Oi fatty,” he grinned holding his hand out to her.

Bella looked up at him choking on her tears. She stood up and threw her arms around his neck. “You can call me fatty every day of my life,” She laughed, there were no words she could say to express how relieved she was.

After Blakey and Bella had calmed down over the test result, they settled in the living room. Even though Blakey was prepared to stand by her if she was pregnant, he was relieved she wasn’t. Wrapping his arm around her waist, he pulled her closer to him. “Bella,” He quietly spoke.

“Yes?” she smiled gazing up at him.

“Not only do I need to know about you and that man,” He paused tilting his head to look at her. “I want you to tell me about your home life. You know nearly everything about mine, but I know nothing about yours.”

“I’ll tell you whatever you want to know, but don’t expect to hear much about my home life, nothing much happened,” Bella choked a little laugh. “Where do you want me to start, Howard or my mom.”

Blakey’s heart went out to her; he guessed she didn’t have much of a childhood. If his guess was right, it was going to be difficult for him to understand, his parents had given him and Sadie a great life. “Let’s start with Howard.”

For the next couple of hours, Bella told him about how she and Howard got together. Blakey sat in silence with brows slightly raised in surprise when she told him she’d watched loads of porn to make sure she knew how to do sex properly because she was a virgin. He was shocked when he realized Howard was old enough to be her father. Bella wanted to be honest with Blakey and told him that it was her who’d chased Howard from the age of sixteen, so it wasn’t his fault. When Bella finished talking, she moved back a little staring at Blakey, waiting for him to say something.

Blakey took a deep breath; his head was reeling from what Bella had told him. He already knew what he felt regarding the situation but felt he needed to hear about her home life before he could voice his opinion. “Carry on,” He said gently stroking Bella’s face. “Tell me about your mom now.”

“Ok,” She nodded. Bella told him that her father died of a heart attack when she was five years old; he was a government minister like Howard. Tears welled in her eyes as she told him about how lonely her life had been as a child moving around the country because of her mother’s career. Myra was highly sort after in the political world because of her PR skills. The elections were every four years and the last four she’d taken on; the minister had won, and Howards was going to be the biggest one of her career.

Blakey was shocked to hear that Bella had been raised by many different nannies and had witnessed at a very young age, them having sex with her mom’s rich friends; they weren’t interested in taking care of her. When Bella was eleven, she’d told her mother that she didn’t want a Nannie anymore. So, Myra never hired another one and Bella was left to take care of herself. There was a housekeeper and cook who were present at the house every day, but they would both leave by 5pm. If Myra wasn’t home, Bella would be alone.

Bella slumped against him. “I love my mom, but I hate her too. Does that make me a bad person?” She sobbed gulping for air. “I must be bad, look at all the trouble I’ve caused the past couple of months.”

“You’re not bad,” Tears welled in Blakey’s eyes as he held her close to him. “What happened is your mom’s and Howard's fault too, not just yours.”

“How do you work that one out?” Bella sniffled looking up at him.

“Well, from the second you made Howard aware you wanted to sleep with him, he should have made it clear to you that nothing was going to happen and sent you on your way. Not take advantage of you and get you to make a promise to save yourself for him!” Blakey could feel himself getting wound up. He stood and began to pace the living room. “Yes you would have gotten upset, but you would have got over it!” He took a long draw of his cigarette. “And as for your mom,” He growled. “What on earth possessed her to think that a child of eleven was responsible to take care of herself while she was working till late at night!”

Bella suddenly began to feel nervous, she thought Blakey was getting too irate. “Blakey, please calm down, you’re scaring me.”

Blakey stopped pacing the room and turned to look at her. “Oh my god no!” he cried kneeling in front of her. “Don’t you ever be scared of me. I would never hurt you.”

“I know,” Bella mumbled. “I’m sorry.”

“Will you stop saying sorry?” He cupped her face with both hands. “It’s like I’ve just said, not all of this is your fault.”

Bella placed her hands over his and sighed. “What’s going to happen now; are we ok?”

“Oh, we’re more than ok,” Blakey smiled reaching for his mobile. “Tomorrow is Saturday and I’m going to be busy catching up on work so while I’m doing that, you’re going to drive home to pack your things. I’ll book a van to meet you there about midday to pick up your bed and whatever else you want to bring here.”

“Really!” Bella gasped slumping with relief.

“Yes really,” Blakey grinned. “What’s happened with you and Howard doesn’t bother me. Everyone makes mistakes so now I know everything; we can move on with our lives.” He placed his hands on her knee’s and squeezed them. “I can’t wait for you to meet my parent’s on Sunday, they’re both crazy but you’re gonna love them.”

“That sounds good to me,” Bella shuddered with excitement. “But what do I do about Howard, he still thinks I’m pregnant?” she grimaced.

“Text or phone him,” Blakey shrugged scrolling through his mobile for a removal van company.

Bella gazed at Blakey thinking how amazing he was and how he made her feel like a better person. “Do you know what?” she said sitting up straight. “I’m not going to text or phone him. I was wrong telling him I was pregnant when I wasn’t so, I think I should personally tell him and apologize too.”

“Are you sure?” Blakey frowned feeling worried. “I don’t want him losing it with you.”

“Howard isn’t like that,” Bella confidently said shaking her head. “He’ll be angry with me, but he’ll be relieved.”

Howard was not only wrong as Mark explained it, but he was way over the top with his demand for an abortion. I think the guy could be dangerous. In the real world, you don't meet him privately. You meet him in a public place and you give him what for about his behavior. Clearly, his career takes precedence over everything and everyone. If that becomes public knowledge, he's done for. Bella has a voicemail that could make it just that. She has the upper hand....and I wouldn't apologize for Jack Shit. I might have considered an apology had he not threatened me and my mother...but NOW....oh, HELL NO. He gets it right up the ass. Bella's lie about a baby brought out the monster's true colors. He is in no position to make threats.

Another rocking chapter. You had me on the edge big time. Honestly, I can't believe she isn't pregnant. (I'm sure you're aware those tests are not 100%)

Thank you. Howard is a very powerful man, Bella could bring his career crashing down with one trip to the newspapers. Blakey has made it clear he doesn't want trouble at his door and she won't do anything to jeopardize her relationship with him.
She's definitely not pregnant, before editing, she was lol. so the endings different from the original version. :)
