She looked at the girl,
that wide-eyed girl
so eager to learn
her uncertain future.
Should she tell her,
maybe not, after all,
the cards could be wrong...
Good and evil played
their unending roles,
nothing could stop them,
everything unfolded in time.
She looked at the girl,
the pretty smiling girl,
then told her not to worry,
there was a new beginning,
there was also a big change.
She smiled warmly at the girl
and could say no more.
Let her get on with her life,
after all, cards and fortune tellers
could always go wrong...

Love this. So mysterious and unique.
There's a song by Cher called "Dark Lady". Have you heard it? Take a listen. It's most unusual and your poem brought it to mind.
