Walking our old steps,
streets that knew us,
places we used to know,.
hours spent, lost seconds,
the scent of your skin
still playing mean tricks
across minutes and years
The past may be gone
but it somehow shapes
present moments in time,
bathes them with nostalgia
and fades swiftly again
into the labyrinths of memory.

Nite-Owl

Like the waves crashing onto the shore then pulling back again, how memories tend to play themselves out.
I've always been drawn to your poetry Lizzie, it always seems to hit on the mark with something going on in my life or jogging a memory. How do you do it?

Wow, thank you! Maybe I do it because I write from my heart. I believe hearts communicate through distance even when people have never met. I appreciate your words a lot, Love, Lizzie.
