What is it that you see, when you look at me?
Watching from afar and just before you walk away, there's that smile.
Where do your thoughts go, when you're alone ?
Am I there ?
Do you remember the words we shared ?
Just small talk over time, that just might start a fire ?
Your eyes follow me and there's a sparkle to them.
Did I put that there ?
Or is it me just getting lost in the sea of yours ?
How is it that you are so in control ?
You make me brave and shy all at once.
You move me but keep me still.
Oh, but those wandering eyes of yours.
They hypnotize, they do.
Come and take a walk with me.
Tell me your story, I'll tell you mine.
I want to know are those wandering eyes really for me ?
Or was it just a dream ?

I'm so glad you're writing poetry, Nite. Your voice is so different from your prose, and you have a gift for understanding focus. You really know where to shine the light and point the lens that many don't understand.
Poetry is about the flow of the mind. I don't want to wade through brackish water. I want to be carried downstream, rocked by a current of emotion. That's what you do here.
Second person narrative is so effective here, so personal. Your piece is about feelings and inquiry. It's about reading the signs. It's about asking the questions we can never ask... except in our poems.
