I watched my grandmother die one night

Just a little, but not for Chaplin, the old

Boot. A dour announcement on a flickering

Tube. It was Marilyn they’d pissed on. My

Father’s mother let go of something just then.

Her hope, perhaps.

You really have a feel for contemporary poetry, sweetheart. This is super strong. The most significant thing is focus. You don't try to do too much. Poetry is about creating or reflecting emotion. This is like a drop of blood on a white napkin. Stark. Perfect.

Thank you, DK. Some of my favorite poetic lines come from your hand:

ardent firebombs, fizzling
heartfelt flagrancies

As Ahab might have said somewhere, "Upon hearing these lines, I do not sleep Mr Starbuck, I die."
