The Song

When I heard her sing

my world changed

for the better,

I think

The song she played

made my heart sing

until her tune

changed

In a blink of an eye

my life crumbled

to the ground

and died

The words I still hear

in my head to this day

echoed my happiness

and fear

Suddenly

Silence

Yes you’re late… you have to make up for it… I’ll bring the whip, you bring the chocolate… I’ve never tasted chocolate of of a nipple before…

The symmetry is very lovely in this heartfelt piece!

Thank you my friend. I like symmetry. I believe it is in everything we see in the world. When it is also displayed in the prose and poetry it speaks to our heart and our nature as human beings.

Such a beautiful agony, Sam.

This is certainly one of your best, I must say. I've never seen you use spacing so brilliantly. You understand the power of a solitary word, and you emphasize that here. Truely excellent.
