One sunny, lazy afternoon,

while Autumn played in gardens,

I walked back to the house,

the house where you used to live,

I stood at its door for a while,

and that sweet time long past

became real again in a whirlwind

till I was no more to be found

but in the shadowy corridors

of lost loves and memories.

And behind that closed door

I saw our bodies happily entwined,

while a merciful future hid its secrets.

from us and all star crossed lovers.

And yet, had our fate been revealed

I would have gone into every minute,

every passing moment of it,

would have defied fate and time

just to live those precious hours

before their swift, stealthy death.

Sad that your life holds that past, but happy for your positive remembrance of your best moments!

Thank you. This is not the only past my life holds but they all taught me something or so I feel.

I love the imagery here, the concept of stepping back in time and embracing a moment in spite of its future. I particularly like the description of looking through the closed door of this presumably vacant house and seeing "bodies entwined" - a passionate moment that would dissipate rapidly, yet because of its power, would survive the ages.

"While a merciful future hid its secrets" - fantastic line

Thank you for your words! The house exists and other people live there, once I heard the sound of a piano...that house seems to attract artists! Love, Lizzie.

You describe so vividly as if it was I who was standing outside that house… I do remember
