Malva is a bit of a spit-fire. I don't think I would have insulted the king as she had done, daughter or no daughter, the disrespect in front of his guard no less could be deemed as unforgivable and warranting a spanking for her disobedience. Her father seems kind though and she is fortunate that he cares so much to right by her, yet she also should feel some semblance of duty not only to her family but her country if war is being waged.

Yes Malva is something else. She should consider herself lucky she didn't get spanked, although I have the feeling King George is going to regret in time, not doing exactly that to her.
