Origami
What I remember most
are your delicate
fingers
creasing the edges,
folding and turning
to shape
everything you
touch
into
all the little
creatures
of creation
until finally and
at last, we each rest warm
in your creaseless palm,
thumping and beaming
with life,
as beautiful
as you
with your angular jaw
and your intimate lines.
Then,
you set us free
like paper sparrows.
Today
in your absence
I am falling…
an unraveled leaflet,
wingless and helpless,
twisting and swirling
to the ground
your diligent hands,
your careful expression
still folding and creasing
in your omnipotent
heaven

Do you mind explaining what I just read? Lately I’ve been having trouble understanding the meaning of some words let alone writing any. I’m getting some nasty paper cuts reading all this….. so pleeeeeeeaaaaase
Sun, January 23rd, 2022 3:07amI'm not normally into poems, but I rather liked this, it kind of reminded me of an autumn leaf dropping, twisting and turning in the air as it descended to the forest floor...
