Feeling close

Intimacy when it's real,

Is a surrender that we feel.

A gentle touch,

A warm embrace,

Puts us in a special place.

It comes from every gender too,

From a strong hug,

Or a soft coo.

To be sheltered in arms,

Knowing of its loving charms.

Today I write not of sex,

But of the feeling that comes next.

That intimate bond between two,

That connects us all, me and you.

If in your life you have felt,

That comradery as we melt,

Then share a love beyond the rest,

Binding friends that are the Best.

The trust between friends is the strongest bond there can be. Being able to "be there" for each other during difficult times and to recognize when one needs a little extra comfort is paramount for a real friendship.
