Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men.

It was a dark and stormy night...

The wind howled down the alleyway behind the pub. I was quite familiar with the territory,  as I had often dragged a drunken stud out back, to suck him off, or bang me senseless.  I had decided to help my friend Christy, who was a barmaid there, clean up after a wedding reception. She had long sexy legs, and the sweetest pouty lips, which I'm sure brought her many tips. Some the fleshy kind.

I had noticed a tall bearded man, during the revelry,  who stared holes through me. I could feel his lustful desire from across the room. Once while carrying a tray of drinks to a nearby table, I brushed past him, and he thrust his pelvis towards me. I could feel his hardness, and it turned me on that he was so forward. I turned and gave him a sultry smile, but his face remained stoic, and emotionless. This turned me on even more, and as the evening progressed, I took more and more notice of him. He was an odd sort, not engaging anyone in conversation,  and rarely speaking, with only nods and an occasional "yes" or "no" answer.

I asked one of the attendees who he was, but no one seemed to have known him. This enigmatic tall dark stranger had peaked my interest. The night continued on with dancing, speeches, toasts, and chicanery. All the while this man watched everything, mostly focusing on the lovely young women, who were enjoying the evening.

After the party concluded we cleaned up. I felt it was my duty to my friend to help, even though it was her job, the only difference was that I wasn't getting paid.  Christy had taken some bags of trash out to the dumpster, but had been gone a long time. I decided that I would go out to see if she was alright.  She wasn't.

I opened the back door to the alley and as I said before, the wind howled along with the smattering of raindrops.  I saw a motion behind the dumpster. On a stack of palettes  lay my friend, unconscious,  while the dark man was brutally raping her. I felt his intense rage, and heard his animalistic grunts emitted with every thrust.

My previous lusty feeling towards him turned to disgust,  as I saw Christy motionless.  I knew this wasn't a mutual dalliance.  I quickly ducked back inside to call for help.

The cop answered and I frantically described the details of the assault. Just as I'd hung up, the back door opened, I panicked and walked behind the bar, ducking down to hide. The dark man began to speak in a taunting voice. "Where Are You?" He said in a creepy melodic tone. That's when I saw the gun, tucked under the register, not ten inches from my face. Perhaps it was dumb luck, maybe even divine intervention,  but I grabbed it, and stood up, pointing it at the assailant.  "Right fucking here!" I shouted. He half turned towards me as his creepy grin turned to horror. This time a woman who was to be his next victim had the upper hand. "Don't you fucking move." I said definitively.

Just then the sirens approached from the front and the rear. He shrugged, and sat down at a small  table. As the constables entered, they demanded that I lower the weapon, and asked if I  had been the one who called. I told them that I was. Two officers stood the big man up, and handcuffed him,  removing him from the bar.

"My friend Christy is behind the dumpster! " I blurted to the cop, who was approaching me, he turned and we both ran outside. A female cop had Christy sitting up on the pallettes and I rushed over to her, holding her hand, she had been chloroformed, and raped. I was shaken to my core to realise that this creep had brutalized my friend and could have raped and killed both of us. Christy recovered, but carried a gun and mace from that day forward.

A few days later, it was revealed that the attacker had been released from prison after a twenty year stint, for rape and the strangulation murder of two women. His time served, he had only been out for three weeks before he began to rape again. The previous week, he had abducted and raped a young mother from a grocery store lot, leaving two small children unattended in her car. Her body was found near a creek less than three hundred feet from the back of the pub.

My testimony put him away for life. And several years later he was killed in a prison riot.

Although sexual escapades can be fun, we should  always be aware of the unknown  danger from predatory strangers.

A cautionary tale and scary how impressions can be skewed and chance can change your life forever. Riveting and well written. Thank you for sharing such a jarring piece.

It was a roller coaster of a day, I had read about the missing mum, that very morning. To realise that the perpetrator had eyes on me still freaks me out. I shook uncontrollably for almost an entire day afterwards. To this day, I still carry protection (condoms and pepper spray) because of it. Christy recovered, is married to a fireman, and is now a therapist, and volunteers as a rape councellor.

Yes. Thank you for all the support, it was scary, especially in court, but you helped me the most. I pointed right at the scumbag!
