And I used to love you,

foolishy, crazily,madly,

I used to wait for you

in the dark corners

of your mercurial whims,

to remember every detail

of your fancies and moods,

to cast on your dear person

the golden web of adoration,

to be your all and nothing,

your madonna and your slut,

your fucktoy and your slave,

your desire and your hunger.

And yet,I lost you to another,

I lost you to youth and lust,

to memories of a far past.

Like every good gambler,

like every zealous adventurer

like every stern war spy

I regret nothing,nothing at all,

sometimes we win,sometimes we lose,

whether it is life,riches or heart

the one who played passionately,

will,regardless of the outcome,

have the coveted upper hand
