Friday 8th March 2013: Law Centre, New Key, Claudia and Mayday

Yesterday we caught the 0850 Service 5 to Newport for our 10 o’clock appointment with the solicitor at The Law Centre and it was a good job that we did catch an early bus as it took, due to the hold-up’s caused by the pipe laying at the bottom of Stapler’s Road, forty minutes to get to the bus station.

Once there, we had an interesting conversation with the solicitor who felt we had a very good chance of getting our deposit back – I’m not quite so optimistic however as the landlady is a crafty bitch; her mother was too. Anyway, we’ll see what happens.

Afterwards we walked through the industrial estate with Juki leaving me at The Lock Shop to start her day, now delayed, at work.

At the Lock Shop I presented them with the key for the outside gate to be replicated – we’ve had major hassle getting it copied and it was the guy in the shoe repair shop in Ryde High Street who suggested The Lock Shop. I left the key with them whilst I nipped across to the café on the other side of the road where I had a mug of tea and a slice of cheese and onion quiche – very nice it was too. In between sips of my tea I read some more of Claudia by Antoinette May which is a historical novel about the wife of Pilate – it’s shaping up to be a bloody good read, I must say.

After I picked up the key (it was £12) I caught a Service 1 to Cowes (with road works at Northwood) and then got the Floating Bridge back to East Cowes where I called in at Waitrose before returning home.

Once home I was extremely pleased to find that the new key worked – I shall be getting another one cut for security.

For the rest of the afternoon I loaded up some spanking films to Fetlife – I also got a phone call from Ronan to tell me that him and his wife had now got a buyer for their house. They may possibly be moving up north which I’m not so sure is a good idea but we’ll see what happens.

To round off the evening we watched the concluding part of Mayday on BBC1 which has been an excellent, and very atmospheric, drama at times.
