Chapter 8: To be trusted

Leena's POV

"You!" I cried out.

The guy who I prayed I'd never seen again was walking beside my car during the night.

"How the hell did you find me?"

I don't know. Please just get in the damn car.

"No. We promised never to see each other again."

"I know what's wrong with you."

"What's wrong with me is that I have a stalker."

I stopped the car and turned it off. I sighed and opened the car door.

The man turned to look at me.

"No…I'm friends with a vampire who knows why you can read minds."

"You told someone about me?"

"Only one person. Please understand-"

"Don't mention me to anyone." He growled.

"I'm not scared of you." But my voice gave me away. He balled his fist up and shook his head.

I backed away slowly and he gave me a dark look.

"Just listen to me…I want to help you."

"Help me? Are you serious?"

I nodded. I don't know why. I just wanted to know more about him. I know I said it was too much but all I can think about is how miserable it would be to walk the earth and to not know what or who I am."

"Just listen to me."

He shook his head and turned and continued to walk.

You're a werewolf.

He stopped. He slowly turned on his feet with the widest grin I've ever seen in my life.

"I'm a what?" He chuckled.

"It sounds stupid…I know but just listen."

"To bullshit? No thank you."

"Why do you have to be such a prick?"

"Why do you want to help me all of a sudden?"

I shrugged.

"Thanks for your stupid fucking theory but I don't need nor want it." He began walking out through the street.

"At least let me give you a ride!" I called.

He stopped and sighed. "Fuck it." He turned and walked to the passenger side of my car.

I got into the driver side.

He got in and then slowly turned to me. "Just take me ahead to the woods. Okay?"

"The woods?"

He shrugged. "I don't know why but…"

"You like the woods?"

"Something is always drawing me there. I don't know what."

"You shouldn't go." I started the car.

He scoffed. "What do you care?"

"It's dangerous."

"Didn't you say I was a……werewolf? Couldn't I just turn into wolf form and fuck some people up!" He mocked.

I just looked at him and then looked forward.

I could still feel his eyes on me.

"It just sounds ridiculous." He said.

"Fine, don't believe me."

"How can I? It's fucking stupid."

I sighed and shook my head.

We turned onto the street and I shook my head. Why does everywhere has woods?

I do not understand.

"Just take what I say into consideration."

"Why should I? I don't recall morphing into a huge ass dog."

"Maybe its just one of those things you don't remember."

He gave me a look.

"Fine….never mind." I said in surrender as I stopped the car.

He sighed and laughed softly. "Werewolf." He said incoherently.

"Forget it." I sighed.

He smiled. "It's just…I don't know."

I sat back in my seat and the blood ran to my cheeks in embarrassment.

He looked to me and his smile slightly disappeared. "What's your name?" He asked.

I shrugged.

He chuckled. "Seriously."

I slowly looked to him.

"Leena…Leena Phillips."

He nodded. "Leena."

"Yours?" I asked.

"I told you mine."

He sighed. "Aiden….Valentino."

"Aiden." I nodded.

"So…now that that's out of the damn way, this…werewolf thing. You actually believe it?"

I nodded. "My friend, Remy, was dead serious about it."

"Why do you believe it?"

"If vampires exist what makes you think there's nothing else out there supernatural?"

Aiden stared at me.

"I know you don't believe but just think about it. Vamps exist….who knows what else?"

Aiden stared at me again.

"You don't want to just stay at my house? You can sleep on my couch. It's more comfy than the woods."

"Comfy?" He asked smiling slightly.

"Why are you smiling? I'm serious."

"It's just…how…even after I'm being a jackass, you're offering me a place to stay."

"I know. So are you accepting?" I asked.

He sighed and sat back. "I'm gone in the morning. Fucking five A.M. I'm gone."

"Fine." I say.

He nodded. "Lead the way, Phillips."

I put the car back in drive and then I turned the car around.

"So this vampire friend….what's his name?"

"Remy. He's a good guy."

"Friend. He told me I should stay away from you but I don't see you as a danger."

Aiden narrowed his eyes at me. "You're attracted to supernaturals?"

I looked at him. "Are you admitting that you might be one?" I asked.

"No…I'm just saying…if I was one…would you be attracted to me?" He was smiling smugly.

"Uh…no?" It sounded like a question. He snickered.

He was nerve racking.

Why was I doing this?

"So this vampire…Tommy-"

"Whatever. He's always around?"

"Every other night."

"You fuck him?"

I looked to Aiden. "That's personal."

He shrugged.

"He's my ex boyfriend's best friend."

"Your ex was a vampire?"

I nodded.

"So you are attracted to supernaturals….interesting."

"Not really. It's not fun."

Aiden nodded. "Anybody live with you?"

"No but my brother, Nick, is staying with me for a little bit because of an incident just recently happened."

"Ah, Is he the cocky type?"

"Believe it or not, he's very similar to you."

He raised his eyebrow and shrugged.

I soon pulled up into my driveway and turned the car off.

"What do you do for living?"

"I have an office job."

Aiden nodded and followed me up to the door.

I placed the key into the lock and opened the door.

As I peeked in, I dropped my keys and stared straight into the eyes of my ex.

His regular green eyes were gleaming and he stood as soon as he saw Aiden behind me.

I swallowed and stepped forward.

"This your ex?" Aiden asked.

"I'm her boyfriend." Christian said.

Aiden held his hands up. "Hey, I don't want her man. I was just going to sleep here."

"Sleep…here?" Christian asked stepping forward.

"Yeah," I said taking a few more steps. "I told him he can sleep here."

"Because it's my house and if I want to invite guest over…then I can."

Christian stared at me completely confused. "Can we talk, Leena?"

"I don't feel like it."

"It's not my fucking fault. Alison-"

"I don't wanna hear another damn word about that girl." I said.

"Not another." I said.

Christian closed his eyes and shook his head.

"So…am I still staying here tonight or…"

"No," Christian said in a strong voice that even had me jump.

But what the hell does he mean no? "Get out of here….wolf."

I looked back at Aiden who stared at Christian wide eyed.

I looked back to Christian who shrugs. "I do my homework."

"Christian….this house isn't yours. You don't have not a damn right to say who can and cannot be here."

Christian stared at me. "We need to talk, Leena."

"I don't wanna hear it. Not tonight."

"So…this is an invitation for me to leave although what you're mad at is not my fault?"

"Yes. We'll talk tomorrow."

Christian shook his head. "Unbe-fucking-lievable." He disappeared before my eyes and I suddenly felt empty. Goddamnit, why does he twist my emotions like that?

Aiden came into my line of sight and I looked at him.

"I'm just gonna leave…you obviously got some personal problems to deal with."

"No. Stay. It's fine. I'm gonna bring you some covers down here and you can sleep on the couch, watch tv, raid my fridge…whatever."

"Okay." He sat down.

Yes, I have a werewolf on my couch….I think.

"You were right." He said as I stepped on the first stair.

I looked at him.

Aiden slowly looked to me. "Maybe I really am a…dog."

"I can't talk about it tonight. Later….maybe." I shrugged.

I went upstairs and went to the closet to bring out two pillows and two blankets.

I walked back down the stairs and swallowed as Aiden took his shirt off.

I stopped in my tracks and bit my lip.

He noticed me as he looked back and I went to him and gave him the stuff.

"I don't need the blankets. It's fucking hot in here."

It felt like twenty degrees in here. Was he serious?

"Um…okay." I grabbed the sheets and made the mistake of brushing his skin. It was hot.

He looked up at me and bit his lip.

My….well, Christian just came back and for some reason, I wish he was here.

To stop me from looking down at Aiden in this way.

I backed away from him. "I'll talk to you in the morning if you're not gone already."

He nodded.

I went back upstairs and turned the bathroom light off before stopping at the guest bedroom door. I knocked and waited for Nick to answer. I don't think I saw his car in the driveway.

"Nick?" I asked.

No answer.

I opened the door and no one was in the dim lit room.

I closed the door and went down to my room and opened the door to the dark room.

I shut it and turned the light on.

Christian was sitting on my bed and it made me scream.

My heart beated fast as he stared at me with a dark look.

I dropped the blankets.

Why does he keep doing that?

What the….?

There was a rumbling sound and a loud bang at the door.

Christian shook his head.

I turned and opened the door slightly and peeked out.

Aiden stared at me. "You okay? I thought you screamed."

"Huge spider…I killed it."

He nodded. "Okay, I'll be downstairs."

I nodded and shut the door closed. I slowly turned back around and Christian was watching me from the bed.

"What are you-"

"You didn't really think I'd leave that easy, did you?" He stood up.

"I was hoping you would because I'm really tired, Christian and I can't do this."

"Do what?"

"Us. I mean you come from nowhere and you're calling me your girlfriend now. It's been over half a year."

He nodded. "I know. But you have to know that the time I was away and….dark…that wasn't me. Alison was controlling me."

"Not her name." I said.

Christian shrugged. "She's dead now….I killed her."

Oh. Well that was…unexpected.

"Oh." I looked down.

"What?" He breathed as he stared at me.

"I thought you loved her."

"I love you." He said. It made me want to melt down deep into the carpet.

My heart was beating fast against my chest as reality kicked in. I still love him.

I still love Christian.

I wasn't even thinking. We needed to talk but…..I wanted to do more than talk at the moment.

Christian pulled me against him and urgently placed his lips on mine.

I immediately wrapped my arms around his neck and felt the back of my shirt being torn from behind.

I felt the coolness of his body yet the heat from his touch and it was almost too much.

I hit the bed without realizing it.

Christian tore the fabric of my clothes, exposing my skin.

I bit my lip watching him.

His eyes…they turned black and I realized that I didn't want them to be that color because all I could think about was 'frenzied Christian'

"No." I shook my head and pulled him down to me.

He was cold against my skin but I didn't care.

"What's wrong?" He breathed.

"Just lay here with me…please?" I asked.

"Tell me what's wrong." He pulled back to look me in my eyes. His eyes were now back to green. Thank god.

"I don't want you to go back to…..evil….Christian."

His eyebrows pulled together. "I'll never hurt you the way I did when I was that way. I swear to you, Leena."

I placed my hand on his cheek and nodded.

"Never." He whispered and pressed his lips to mine. Every cell inside of me awakened and reality kicked in more and more. I love Christian. I fucking love him. I love him.

"I love you too." He whispered.

My eyes widened.

"I had a lot of vampire blood when I was…different. It lets me read thoughts."

"It's too much for me right now."

"Whatever you're going through, I'm not going to let you do it alone."

"I have to help him." I said.

"The bastard downstairs?"

I rolled my eyes.

"He's just now realizing what he is and it has to be scary."

"I'm sure it is. But I'm also sure he can take care of himself."

"Well he's staying here tonight." I said.

Christian got off of me. He sat up and shrugged. "Then I'll leave. Seems that you're busy with wolf boy down there."

"Are you positive he's a wolf?"

"I can smell it. Plus, his eyes are way too fucking bright to be all the way human."

"His eyes look blue."

"Only the vampires and other wolves can see the brightness. Humans can't see it because their vision is too dark." He laid against my pillows and looked to me.

"Don't think I like that guy down there. I just felt sorry for him."

"Oh so you felt sorry. Okay." He got up.

"Why the hell are you mad like I'm sleeping with him?"

"Have you moved on since I left?"

"No." I answered.

He stared at me and narrowed his eyes. "You know what's sick about that whole thing?"

Conversation change.

"What?" I asked. I wanted to fix my clothes but they were torn so I got up and started putting on shorts and a tank top.

"I don't remember…..any of it. From the second Al- 'She who shall not be named' hypnotized me, I just couldn't remember anything I've done."

"You want me to tell you?" I asked.

He turned to me. "You witnessed me in that state?"

I nodded. "First time I saw you that way, you were at 'Bloodlust, you and that bitch were torturing this girl and you…you told me you didn't love me. You tore up the whole town of Illinois up."

"What do you mean tore it up?" He asked.

I shrugged. "Forget it."

He shook his head. "No. Tell me."

"You, her and James all killed every last human in Illinois."

Christian stood back staring down to the floor as if he didn't believe me.

"You…um…you killed Alexander."

Christian met eyes with me this time and his eyes grew wide as his eyebrow furrowed. "I…what?" He asked in a low menacing tone.

"You killed Alexander." I said in a small voice. It seemed like he would snap at any moment.

"Alexander who….?" He didn't meet my eyes.

"Bascov. Svetlana's boyfriend and she came to see me. I think you told her where I was. I think she thinks that I killed him."

"Shit." Christian whispered.

"She asked me what I knew and I told her nothing."

"Although you knew I was the culprit."

I shrugged. "Yeah, well….I knew you weren't…you so…"

Christian shook his head. "What the fuck am I going to tell her?"

"Svetlana. She's going to tear my fucking head off."

"She doesn't have to know."

"She has fucking eternity to find out." He said.

I stared at him.

He looked back to me.

"I won't let her find out."

"Defending me?" He asked.

I shrugged.

Christian stared at me.

I looked out of the window and then at the clock. Twelve forty.

Christian used his finger to lift my chin to look up at him.

"I'm sorry."

"Aside from the obvious, about what?"

He bunched up the fabric of my tank top. He leaned down to my ear. "Ripping this again." I could hear the fabric tearing and he pushed me all the way back.

No more stalling. I wanted this.

He tore off the shorts and then my panties and I made no move to stop him.

It's been so long.

Too long.

Christian was naked in front of me within a blink of my eyes.

I bunched his hair up in my fingers as he crushed his lips to mine.

"Don't leave me." I breathed.

"Never again." He whispered back.

I shook my head and wrapped my legs around him missing the way he feels against my body.

Christian entered me and his teeth latched onto my neck.

My chin lifted up and I shut my eyes as he fucked me harder than he's ever had before.

He sat up so I was in his lap and I rode him and threw my head back as he continued to kiss and suck on my neck sending intense shocks of pleasure through me.

I looked deep into his eyes as they dilated and I just kissed him.

I missed him. Tasting him. Being with him like this. I had this excitement going through my body like fire and electricity and it was crazy how only he can make me feel this way.

Even after all the anger I felt after he was in a frenzy, I felt nothing but love as he was here with me.

And we went on and on nonstop even after the numerous times I climaxed around him and he climaxed in me, there was no stopping us.

From all the screaming and moaning, I damn near lost my voice toward the end.

And he tired me out.

At this point, I'm out of breath, sweating, and already withdrawing from him as he pulls out.

The next thing I can remember was shutting my eyes as I watched the sky light up.
