Jenny's fixing her clothes in the closet when suddenly the door bell rang; she looked through the peephole and saw Gabriel standing behind the door. She opened it and went inside her not so big living room, he followed her. Gabriel acted as if nothing happened, smiling the way used to, before he left.
"I'm sorry for what happened, I truly am. I hope you forgive me Jenny. Please? It won't happen again, I promise." Unless you ask me to.
Jenny sighed. She couldn't resist those tantalizing eyes and sweet smile. "Alright, but what are you doing here?"
"I guess Aunt Leticia hasn't told you yet? We're going out of town, two nights and three days. You better take your leave and call your boss now," with expectant eyes, how could she say no? But she remembered Jake, and made a quick decision.
"I can't. I'm sorry." She had to think of an effective alibi, she knows Gabriel quite well and she was so sure he won't buy it if she doesn't make a strong reason. "We're dealing with an important client in the office Gabriel. I can't take a leave, it's so important that I'm there." Gabriel looked at her showing he's not convinced.
"Fine. I'll pay for those days that you're gonna be with me... I mean... us! We need you there, Jenny. Your brother will be there together with his family. Your single, it's easier for you to come join us. Plus, I won't be long, I only have two more weeks and I'll get back and work my ass off to Japan, again." Hearing that, she eventually felt so sad but pretended not to be affected by it. "Hmmm, is your boyfriend stopping you from doing what you want, huh Jenny?" He choked as a sign of disgust.
My brows rose "He does not! And will not!" such a lie. Recently, Jake had been showing jealousy over Gabriel, he told her that he could sense Gabriel has feelings for me, which I did not believe so.
"Alright then, then there'd be no more discussions. Pack your bags and we'll leave tomorrow. We're going to a private beach resort. You like that right? You enjoy swimming and I thought-"
"I don't! I don't like any of it anymore. You see? I've changed okay?! A lot! So stop acting like as if you're my big brother, because you're not!" Jenny lost her patience. Gabriel's jaws are clenching and headed towards the door and before he hold the door knob, he stopped by facing the door.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow, 5 am. Be sure you're ready by then, Jen. If I have to carry you, I would. And please, stop acting like a child. You're all grown-up!" Jenny was left in the room, clueless how to escape this persuasive man. She just sighed and packed up some necessities that she would surely need.
